I like Utah, North Carolina, and Iowa State to make a run to the Final Four if they good good draws. Also, don't sleep on Ohio State with DeAngelo Russell. They could be a scary 6-7 seed.

Kind of what I was thinking..all those teams he named could be in UK's bracket and then you're picking 3 new darkhorse teams

Iowa St. If they play defense, they'll go deep.
Oklahoma
Northern Iowa

It's so dumb and pointless to speculate these things before the bracket comes out.. It's all about the seeds and match ups.

Providence could win a few games. Kris Dunn can take over a game in several ways.

Drew's post season record in the post season is pretty good. 8-4 in the NCAA and 9-2 in NIT. He has his players ready come tournament time.

Ohio St
Louisville
Wichita St. and......

Butler

If you can defend, and are somewhat efficient on offense, you have a chance in the tournament.

I don't like team like Iowa St., UNC, Notre Dame who rely so much on their offense clicking. One bad night and they're done. Teams that defend can still win games even on ugly offensive nights

OSU could get hot with Russell like Melo went nuts on a title run. I don't see this OSU team doing that, I think they are really a top 16 ceiling type team

I feel much more confident picking teams that can defend. If Utah is a 3 seed, I like them. Oklahoma is a good one. I like northern Iowa and texas too for some reason. Texas will be a pretty bad seed, though.

Iowa state doesn't really defend well at all and they have been having some serious struggles away from home. It's gonna be pretty difficult for them to stay hot for a lot of games and they will have to since they probably won't be getting stops. It could happen though, obviously.

This is an era in which mid-majors can do real well in the tourney because they can more effectively build experienced rosters. Second tier power conference schools have to rely on some underclassman stud who is going to bolt for the pros, and hasn't quite developed his game. But give me the VCU, Butler, and Northen Iowas of the world. Roster stability and veteran experience that won't panic in a close game under the big lights.

They won't win the title or anything, but they can roll through those more precarious second tier power conference rosters. I'm a Maryland fan, praying that our freshman point guard carries the team on his back (not totally true, I have faith in Dez Wells... a senior). Scares the bejeezus out of me. I'd rather play another similarly flawed big school than one of those deep mid-majors (especially ones that can shoot).

Except Melo never scored less than 11 points in a game, actually showed up in games against ranked opponents and Syracuse only had 5 losses on the entire season…...
