Or a tape job.

Black on black on black doesn't work as well on TV...

Especially for your eye to pick up Reggie on his runs...

But what's the problem with bare legs/calves? All covered looks like effeminate NBA stockings.

Never understood how any player, who's in contact situations, doesn't want knee pads..

Yea, dri-fit pants. Way more comfortable than the old school polyester stockings.

I’m pretty sure that guy is the reason this rule was even considered

And if he wasn't, he is definitely the poster child for it

whats the why behind the change?
Because the pants have become hot shorts for skill position players.

Not much data showing the flimsy little knee pad prevents a meaningful amount of injuries. There's some direct impact injuries that it would help, but most knee injuries are ligaments from change of direction, twisting, buckling etc, which pad wouldn't help.

I agree, I don't care if they wear shorts or not. NCAA is adopting the NFL rule of no bare skin showing...

Not really talking about injuries, just stuff like helmet contact to your knee cap, turf burns, stuff like that...

you knee doesn't have much meat around it to protect it from small dings and hits.

I’m weird but I always liked the low socks in CFB. It just was the look for whatever reason.

That seems like an overreaction to those dumb kicker “shorts”. Who wants to wearing leggings/tall socks in hot arse weather.

They’re totally useless. So are the thigh pads.

ETA: at least the inserts. The compression shorts/underpants usually have the padding there for things like turf burn etc.

Were there a lot of meaningful injuries on kickoffs and onsides kicks? Yet, the league destroyed the surprise onsides kick for some reason.

In an Auburn game last year, 2 DBs clanged knees and both had to be assisted to the sideline.

Football was played fo a long time. Pads were added to pants to prevent injury. Young guy thinks it looks cool to not wear knee pads. Young guy misses play bc banged knee.

This has not gone into effect. It is part of the proposed rule changes for next season.

I don’t see it passing. It’s dumb as hell. Just make players wear knee pads if you really give a shite about “safety” and don’t just want to turn every aspect of the sport into the NFL.
