NBA This Year

As the Warriors lay *another* smackdown on an inferior opponent, I have been noticing that the league as a whole seems to be down; the quality of basketball outside of Curry/Warriors, and the Suns appear to be a step down from years past. I know the Clippers are without Kawhi, and the Nets are without Kyrie (and 1/2 Harden), but the Nuggets are under 500; the Bucks were under .500 (have won six straight); the Hawks and Sixers are hovering .500 and the Wizards have the third best record in the East. Other than Warriors and Suns (we'll see about the Suns this week), the rest of the league is just "meh".
Not only is Curry the best player in the league; it appears at this moment through 20 games that he is the *only* superstar in the league that is really moving the needle (I know Durant is a great player, but he isn't really moving the needle and got destroyed against Curry). I'm finding it difficult to watch this year, unlike last year. The quality of basketball across the board is subpar. It's good to know that the Warriors are going to win 60 of their games by 15+ points (once they get about an 8 point lead, the other team folds and/or Curry hits about 10 threes in a row). The Warriors could match 2016 win total, but I don't think they're as good as the 2016 group. The NBA is like the SEC, and the Warriors are Georgia.
Thoughts? Am I the only one who thinks this?

On the contrary, there are only a few terrible teams now. Much more parity than there has been in the past.

It’s more parity with Tier 2 teams than ever before. I’ve been enjoying it (except for whatever the frick the Lakers do on a nightly basis)

it's not just this year. it's slowly been happening for the past few years. Players are pussy and are not nearly as developed as they should be. I dont see an end in sight.

NBA is a broken product and I love basketball. The politics stuff doesn’t help either.

I'm talking about this year; try to read. The Bucks started 6-8 and won the Finals last year. If the Suns get blown out by the Warriors this week, we might say that the Suns might be a little better than the rest. There is parity like women's basketball circa 2013-2018 - UCONN (Warriors), and everyone else. The NBA was far more entertaining last year. I would imagine that the short layoff has some impact, and teams will start to round into form. Right now, it seems that the Warriors are going to win 73-75 games this year, while maybe three other teams get 52 wins.

Yes. Of the people who follow NBA you are probably one of if not the only person to think at that.

So the Warriors and Suns, and then a bunch of "meh", with a couple of terrible teams (Magic, Rockets Pels). The Warriors are fun to watch because they look competent and they play harder than anyone else. It almost seems like few players/teams actually GAF.

Now I'm questioning how much you actually watch.

Playersare not nearly as developed as they should be.

No way. Players are shooting better than ever and most players are expected to pass and handle, and pretty much everybody has to defend on the perimeter. The overall skill level is probably higher than ever.
20-30 years ago it was iso after iso with too many lumbering bigs that could not exist outside the paint.

Players are shooting better than ever
Some of y'all need to go rewatch some full old games to realize just how much of a difference there is in effort, especially on the defensive end. That's not even nostalgia. I wasn't even alive for 80's basketball, but I've watched enough games from that era to know the game has changed for the worse. Players are nowhere near as fundamentally sound anymore. Half the dribble moves stars use today aren't even fricking legal.

i have no doubt as well.. back then, you also had your entire team the entire season. Seems like someone is always hurt in this age of NBA..there will never be another "isiah scores 25 in 1 quarter on severely sprained ankle"

30 years ago shooting 30% from 3 for the year was an acceptable percentage. Today if you are that bad at 3s you'd better be a god at getting to the rim or a back up center.

But sure, the complete lack of fundamentals is made up by the fact they can shoot 3's slightly better.
The fact that you didn't even mention a midrange game as an alternative proves my point.
