7 is awesome, but first round should be reduced back to 5. Issue is how far games are spread out once the Conference Finals start.

Game 1 Sunday
Game 2 Tuesday
Game 3 Friday

Too much time off

i think every other night is perfect. but in the first round, coordinating 8 different series and tv slots would be a bitch. they do the best they can. NBA playoff basketball is fantastic.

Last year they did every other day for both CF, and then every other day for the Finals, except an extra day to switch venues from OKC to MIA.

The purpose is to make money. The NBA owners could give a shite if the best team is the champ as long as people watch the basketball. Same with the NCAA.

First round should be best of 3.
Second round should be best of 5.
The other 2 rounds should be best of 7.
Profit.

thank you, captain obvious. theyre businesses, got it. their playoff basketball model is trying to maximize dollars, hence the 7 games series in each round. i dont recall stating i have a problem with the current set up.

If you like NBA playoff basketball I don't see what the complaint is. Who cares if it takes awhile? The more games the merrier. And the nba playoffs have the added benefit of crowning the true best team champions more often than any other American sport.

One is objective while the other is subjective.

I love it. That means that every night for like a month there is meaningful basketball being played. Round 1-2 of the NBA playoffs is my favorite time of the year for sports.

They should use the regular season for seeding, let every team in the playoffs, and do an one & out March Madness style tournament.

It'd be a fun playoff.

Everything about the NBA is just bloated. The regular season is too long and the playoffs are like a second season.

The first two rounds of playoffs should definitely be reduced to best of five.
