Silver has got to be shaking his head at this dreadful performance by Memphis.

He should be shaking his head not working with his TV partners to show more Thunder national games. Could have exposed them to more fans but instead they showed the aging Lakers when most people are ready for LBJ to retire.

Lots of fans haven’t seen how great this team is. They broke an all time record in net point difference. SGA stats are distorted because he sat so many 4th quarters.

This team plays on both ends of court. Its not how bad Memphis is its how good OKC is.

I do expect rest of games to be closer.

OKC is very good. But I’m talking about effort on the grizzlies today. Even in the 1st quarter they were playing lazy.

2 way players can’t play in the playoffs. So no Flagler, Carlson or Ducas.

Dieng and Topic are hurt.

So OKC is forced to close the game with rookies Ajay Mitchell and Dillon Jones… but also three of Wiggins, Joe, Kenrich and JWill.

Terrible optics for the league

Sometimes coaches concede game 1 away. They use it to learn and adjust for game 2. Possible they held back anything they had for game 2 or game 3. The rest of games won’t be like this is my guess. Memphis is still a good team. Just started slow and likely saving their ammo for another day.

Didn't bother turning this back on after halftime. Definitely didn't expect a near-60 point shellacking though. What a beatdown.

Desmond Bane just posted the worst plus-minus in NBA playoff history

Grizzlies were -51 with him on the floor, surpassing the -45 held by Andre Drummond in 2019 and Klay Thompson in 2022. Klay’s was at the hands of Bane and the Grizzlies.

OKC won by 51 today.

The 5th most in playoff history.

Largest victory in game 1 history.

Game 2 will be much closer. Coach is good and will erase this from their minds in practice Mon. Anyone expecting all series games to be blowouts will be disappointed. Playoff games each are their own entity and you will have ebbs and flows.

Oh Joy l. Doris for the Celtic game. Between her husky man voice and Jefferson's uptight black voice, I'm sitting this one out.

Grant Hill is by far the best basketball color commentator because he barely talks.
