I understand that. But every team can waste one roster spot.

I get where youre coming from though.

Yes. The already were. But that doesnt make this individual move any more impactful. I never said the warriors were less favorites, just that I dont think they are in an even better spot than they were 3 hours ago...which is still clear and total favorites

The only thing I’m mad about is the fact that Chris Paul playing with Kobe Bryant was considered illegal

Green is filthy on the boards too.

Thompson durant iggy green and boogie is such a insane defensive line up.

I love the ppl saying but but Boogie won’t be back until February like that’s a bad thing. Will he be back by the playoffs? Yep. And that’s all the Warriors care about.

Boogie’s skills translate much better than Elton Brand’s or even Kobe. Brand wasn’t know for shooting and relied on his athleticism. He was still a good player after but wasn’t somebody you build a team with.

Kobe was old and it zapped his explosiveness which is important being a guard.

Even if Boogie is back at 80%, he’s still thicc and will be stronger than most bigs. He’ll still have his stroke as well. What boogie loses is his point-center ability which is prob a good thing if it means boogie will bang a bit more instead of trying to beat his guy off the dribble from the top of the key.

We don’t know what version of Boogie the Warriors will have. If I had to guess, he will not be the same elite level player he was before just based on past players who have torn an Achilles tendon.

People are just looking at this in worst case scenario mode.

He very very likely won’t close games in year one coming off an Achilles. When you not in the game in crunch time your impact is obviously lessened significantly.

They replaced Javale Magee with, let's say a 50% Boogie. How is that not an upgrade?

It's an upgrade. Though Boogie brings diminishing returns for them, it's still higher returns than they had before he was on the roster.

It's an upgrade. I just have my doubts on how large an upgrade

Nah man my dream was him coming off the bench to wreck shite on backups.

Imagine the start of a 2nd quarter when Rox rest their main bigs. Boogie will destroy your nenes, rynos, etc.

I think it's just because the Warriors just replaced their weakest position with a former all-star for 5 million dollars.

That's just wild anyway you slice it

Like Chris Paul wrecks second units. Yea they might be able to go 50-5 like CC did if he comes back healthy.

So can anyone explain why boogie would take this type of a deal?

He's wayyy too young to have rings be worth more than money. His agent, his manager, his family, etc couldn't be supportive of taking a 5 mil one year deal over a deal worth 10-20x that much.

Most thought the Pels would lose boogie because he wouldn't accept less than what he believed he was worth regardless of injury. No one thought we'd lose him to take a 80 million dollar paycut to win one ring.

What in the world?
