Look, if Elfrid has to be the starter, that's probably a bad idea. However, Alvin Gentry makes shitty point guards look good every year (Ish Smith for example), and the plan is for him to be a backup.

If Elfrid can't figure out how to play defense and he dribbles the ball off his feet and shoots 35% from the field, it'll be a disaster, but I think it'll be ok.

and why don't other shitty players do this?
They don't have the backing of an extremely powerful guy like Magic.

I'll be right here with you to watch how Lonzo grows.

Sources: Suns owner Robert Sarver and GM Ryan McDonough are meeting with star guard Devin Booker and his agent Leon Rose to present the framework of his rookie extension contract offer on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Booker is a strong candidate for a max deal.

When Sarver and McDonough figure out how to screw up getting a guy to sign his first max extension >>>>>

If elfrid payton is the starter and Pels talk thinks he's good enough
No one in that thread wants him as a starter. That would be disastrous

Magic is inflating Lonzo's assist numbers?

The hell is going on in here?

Hell I'd argue Jrue ain't THAT great either.
Y'all have to be working around thinking Jrue is SOME form of what he showed in the playoffs.

He can't just regress into whatever you think he is and y'all be on the same path moving forward.

Come on, man.

He was the primary ball handler for a horrible team that liked to put up shots.

The frick does that have to do with him being able to run a successful basketball team?

AND he couldn't shoot. No shite he found some assists.

He was referencing Jrue as a ballhandler. Which was very obvious in the playoffs.

I know but the guy from Phoenix can't lose the confidence that he knows more about basketball than some Louisiana rednecks. You really got nothing left if you lose that.

I am from North Louisiana.

Hendo, Fus and most of these guys know much more than I do. I just have watched Elfrid play a decent bit of basketball in the past year, and he stuck out as particularly bad in a team of bad players (outside of Booker).

Same here.

I watch prettt much every Orlando game in same capacity or another.

He isn't cutting it. Not even close.

Jrue didn't really play much better in the playoffs then what he was doing for most of the season.

He got off to a really slow start but he was absolutely rolling by new years.

He was great in the playoffs, he was great before the playoffs too.

I hear you.

I think REALLY highly of him. And I love the Rondo/Jrue dynamic.

All I was saying is if y'all are playing Elfrid any meaningful minutes...yuck.

I genuinely hope I'm wrong. I'd like to see Elfrid ball out back home. I will gladly take that L. I also will always root for the Pels to do well because I have so many friends who are Pels fans. And I gotta root for the Holiday fam to succeed.
