@ZachLowe_NBA 4m
And if that's the case, and MIA is operating over the cap, they've used by far their biggest free agency weapon on Josh McRoberts.

Not true. Melo made more than Bosh last year, raising his max salary.

It's 35% of the salary cap or 105% of that player's previous salary. Either of those numbers end up being ~22mil for Melo.

ummmm

The maximum salary Bosh/Melo/LeBron can receive is 105% of the last year of their previous contract or 35% of cap. For LeBron and Bosh that number is $19,067,500 (earned in 2013-2014). Based on current cap projections, it will be around $20.7 million.

It's the last year of your contract or 35% of the salary cap.

I shouldn't have said the "same", but the number he is putting on Bosh is wrong.

Both Bosh and Carmelo's "max" is 35% of the cap, or 105% of last year's salary...whichever is greater.

For Bosh: 35% of 63.2 is 22.12 million
For Anthony: 105% of 22.407 is 23.52 million

I was under the impression that Melo only made ~21.4mil last season.

ETA: It was, so his max is really only ~22.4mil

Regardless, the point stands that Bosh's max is considerably more than 4 for 85mil and closer to the 4 for 96mil that is being thrown out there.

You might be right...basketball reference had it at 22.407.

That was his salary for this season, had he not opted out.

Alright, this is what the dude said as to why Bosh can only be offered $20.7 million instead of $22.1 million:

"League uses different % of BRI to calculate max salary (42.14%) than it does to calculate salary cap (44.74%)."

I don't know what that means. But I'm telling you, he knows his shite.

I don't think bob was the talent infusion LeBron had in mind

I really couldn't tell you where LEBRON ends up. I want to say Cleveland, but there's so much bad blood, not sure if he would go back. Miami is a crapshoot as far as talent goes unless they get Melo.

That's what the dude has been saying. He said Bosh max is about $20.7 million, max deal could be 4 years, $88 million.

He knows what he's talking about.

Riley is putting all his chips on McRoberts to sway LeBron.
