A gamble that big was a bad mistake from the start and a lot of people said it as well.
Yes Morey is gambler, he hit 2 home runs the last 2 offseasons, this offseason he did not. Apparently that now makes him overrated.
Re Parsons: Hindsight is 20/20. The team had a chance to match this year and would have if they landed another big FA. Next year they would have had no chance to match. If you think you can land a big name, it was a good gamble by Morey. By all accounts Houston was very close to landing Bosh.

now that's a good signing

He's been killing it in the press conference. I haven't bought a jersey in a long time, but I may have to get a Vince Carter Grizz jersey.

I never would've thought that he'd be a guy playing into his late 30's when he first came into the league, he's a great professional. I would've loved to have gotten him in Houston.

Here's the deal. The goal is to win a championship. Not to get to the second round or the third round.
None of those goals have really been attained by the Rockets. Right now, they should focus on getting to the 2nd round.
Did the moves they made this offseason make the Rockets a better team for next year? Did they improve from last year?
Obviously they didn't.
They are banking on somehow getting this 3rd star player in the next few years, which is why they declined Parsons. Who is this player? Is he gonna be better than Parsons will be in 2 years? Remember, Parson is only going to get better.

He was joking about how he just has to shake his head some times because guys will come up to him and talk about how they use to have his poster on their wall when they were in middle school.

I agree, these pelican fans are terrible. Keep that shite on pelcians talk
If they'll stay off Pelicans talk, I'll stop clowning on them. Prime Time Money is the exception. He's welcome to visit.

Can we get an official Houston v Pelicans bitch thread instead of clogging up this one? This almost as bad as Saints/falcons shite Derailing every NFL thread on the board
Agreed. I couldn't believe that shite was still on here. Can't hardly find any relevant info while sifting through all if this bullshite, nobody cares about.
"Yay! Houston fricked fricked up and missed out on Bosh and Parsons." Who gives a frick? Next topic.

I'm good friends with a guy who works for the Thunder who sits center court at the press desks. He's encountered every NBA athlete over the past 3 years. And his favorite non-Thunder player he's come across by far is Vince Carter. Said he's one of the funniest people he's ever talked to.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty blown away by that press conference.

Right, an organization's goal should be to make the second round.

Well the offseason isn't over yet and even if they don't make any moves before the season starts, the question should be are they better going into the playoffs this season than they were last season. And we won't know that for 9 months.
quote:There's a number of players out there who they could target, that's why they didn't match on Parsons. It was either Parsons or a shot at countless other players. Even if they don't land the third star as a fan you love a GM like Morey who tries to hit the home run.

Yes but I don't think he'll ever be worth what Dallas gave him. He's going to make more than Harden this year.

I know that guy! Told me the Thunder would have made a run at Carter if he played any D.

Can't hardly find any relevant info
There is no relevant info right now. Very little has happened today. Free agent options are disappearing and we're getting down to plans E and F for most teams who were looking to spend.
I'd really love to hear more about what Lance Stephenson's camp is up to. It seems that Indiana offer wasn't as offensive as they thought it was.

Guess what homie, there has been no relevant info today. And if you want to see the most recent info the original post is being updated. This is a free agent discussion, the Parsons/Rockets story is the biggest story right now.

Carter is easily one of the funniest players I've met. Fans loved him because he would spend a lot of time chatting with those that sat by the rails coming out of their locker room

There's one poster with PortCity in his name that annoys the majority of that board. Not saying it's you, but I lost count at 23.
