It's all about what have you done for me lately. He didn't just have a good year... he had a really really good year. I see your point though but if he really has improved his offensive game, with the money that's being shelled out, what he signs for may turn out to be a bargain.

With that said, Posey had a terrible jump shot. Even as a Knick, Ariza has always flashed a decent mid range game.

Fair enough. I've always liked Ariza, but his shooting percentages were way above anything he has ever put up, both from 2 and 3. I don't think he simply learned to shoot better at age 28. He is basically a 4th or 5th option who will be getting around 10/year. He is also a few years from his defense slipping, which is a big part of his value. Maybe he'll be great but seems like a guy with flashing warning signs.

ETA: In fairness, it does look like there is a two year trend of his 3 PCT going up. He won't shoot the 40% from this year but maybe he is a 35-38% from 3 which is valuable.

I'll never bash a guy for wanting to make more money, but if Melo wanted a chance to win a title in the next few years, he would have went to Chicago.

I need the details on the Pau deal so I know if I should be upset or not.

I don't think he became a better shooter either more so he became a smarter shooter... a trait some pick up years down the road with experience. It could be the same case with Ariza.

If he signs for that amount for 3 years, he should still be able to contribute defensively as well which maintains a big part of his value. He's still just 29. I look at him as an upgraded version of Tony Allen... who still plays strong defense at his age. That's something I feel Ariza can maintain... so I'm not really concerned about that aspect of his game.

More McDermott on Rose: "He looks like the old DRose to me."

I hope Doug knows what he's talking about and that Rose can finally have another injury free season.

I'm sure he'll wait to see if Dallas get matched on the Parsons deal before making any decisions. Obviously Dallas is down to throw money around (15mil to Parsons), unless you guys blow him away with an offer.

Too bad he's an idiot, he would be in line for a huge pay day if it weren't for his antics.

LOVE the Morrow deal. This team desperately needs a sharpshooter off the bench and we finally got one.

One would think it would have to involve one of Sanders or Henson with the cluster frick they would have there at the 4 and 5 spot.

This. Most likely Henson if I had to guess, there was a rumor near the end of the season that they were going to shop him this offseason.
