Parsons is good but not worth 15 mill a year
Not yet but definitely could be, which is why Cuban did that. He had to make some noise for Dirk's swan song and did just that

Cuban did that to frick over Houston. Obviously he wouldn't mind Parsons but if he knew he was gonna get him anyways he wouldn't have offered 15 mill lol

Nick Young has agreed to a four-year, $21.5m deal to stay with the Lakers, league source says. Fourth year is player option.

I think Parsons at 15 is fine for Dallas considering what they are paying Dirk.

Luol Deng & Trevor Ariza could be options for Heat to replace LeBron.

NBA free agency is a glorious, three ring, multiple team, circus. Love every bizarre minute.

That's how I look at it. Dirk took a paycut for this, so we are basically paying $25 mil for Parsons and Dirk. I love it

Morey is a) very bright, b) gets a pass for one playoff series win in 7 years, and c) has had some horrible last-second luck on deals
Morey:

Heat will still be a good team with another above average guy. Just matters who they get to surround them. They aren't getting anyone at a discount anymore without bron.
I'm pretty excited to see how my boy bosh does as the go to guy

Parsons is good but not worth 15 mill a year. And bringing him back at that salary doesn't leave them with much wiggle room to get better. In return, they pretty much have the same team as last year without Asik and Lin.
They still have $16m in cap space to use between now and before they match Parsons.

If there is any way to get Gasol, Morey needs to do it. He's not Bosh but he's a damn good upgrade over Jones at the 4 and would be cheaper. That would still give Houston a top 3 starting lineup in the league.

Would you rather Parsons on a 3/45, 4/52, or 5/65?
I take take the former all day. He's not worth 15 million a year on a long term deal... but he is on a 3 year deal as you carry less financial risk.

I'm not going to doubt Pat Riley's ability to recruit though. Having a guy like Spo helps a lot as well.

Gasol and Howard didn't work out too well in LA... not sure why they'd want to rehash that.

That was Mike D'antoni. Gasol didn't work with him at all.

Yeah they do not work well together on the floor at the same time.

Let me get this right. Bynum and Gasol won two championships together, but Howard and Gasol can't work out? Not that I really want Pau.
Posted on 7/11/14 at 5:05 pm to GeauxAggie972
Wonder if the Heat will keep their scheme the same without LeBron? Bosh at the 5, spread the floor, etc.

Well you have to consider they were in D'antoni's jacked up offense.

They wanted Gasol to stretch the floor in LA and Houston is looking for that type of player now. I'm not sure who the coach is will matter.
Posted on 7/11/14 at 5:07 pm to papz
Bynum and Gasol worked just fine...D'antoni's system was the problem. Pau was not good in that system without Dwight.

I am so bummed to be a Houston fan. Again.
