I don't think Miami has anything. I think they over estimated how many young and coming players were going to reject their payday to go play with them.

Giving Ben Gordon the money he got was smart???

quote:The Bulls would lose Hinrich, Dunleavy, Boozer, Augustine, etc. to get Melo. They'll have no bench. The Rockets will keep all of their starters. Plus, the Rockets defense was not bad. They were about 10th. The Rockets having bad defense is a myth. They struggled with half-court offense.
Your homer side is showing. Melo on the Bulls with a healthy Rose and Noah quickly becomes the favorite in East depending on what Miami does.
And Rose being healthy is a big if.
The Rockets can pay him more than the Bulls. Plus, no state taxes means he can keep more of the money that he will make. He'll make a good bit more in Houston than Chicago.
And as for the conferences, the Heat are going to come back stronger. There have been several different teams from the West get to the Finals. The Heat have been 4 straight years.
Carmelo, Noah, and Rose cannot beat the Heat. And even if they did somehow get to the Finals, they wouldn't beat whoever comes out of the West.

4.5 million?
Really not that bad. He is a temporary stop gap at pg for one year.
Second year is not guaranteed, meaning unless he is just all star, he will be gone after the season.
So why not?

To be fair, they most certainly could.
Also a lot of players like the east, easier road.
Better chance of making it to the finals with the Bulls out of the east.
The east is at this point in time a declining Miami and a dumpster fire in Indiana.
So it's currently they're for the taking.
Now Washington is on the up swing but they are not they're yet. Also the bulls could amnesty Boozer and cut Dunleavy and have the money needed.
Now if he goes out West he has in no certain order...
Portland
Golden State
Oklahoma
San Antonio
Phoneix
Los Angeles Clippers
Memphis
Dallas

I just don't see the Raptors really going anywhere with that core. That deal isn't outlandish, I'm sure he could have gotten something similar somewhere else.

The guy likes where he is and they have a good young core. Seems like a good decision imo.

First Gortat resigns with the Wizards, then Lowry resigns with the Raptors, and a report comes out that they can't even come to an agreement with the big 3. Things aren't going well in Miami.
I forgot to add that Deng said he isn't taking less money either.

Most band wagoners are!
He is just upset that these players aren't paying the heat for the right to play with Lebron.

Are you stup...oh wait we already know the answer to this.

I could be completely wrong but it's really starting to feel like LeBron won't be in Miami next year.
