Staying in LA?

Why would there be a need for smoke though? That's the point I don't get.
Miami wants Lebron to take a discount, I'm sure. But they'll obviously pay him max if he won't budge.
Lebron's agent keeps telling media types that Lebron is serious about possibly going to the Cavs on a max deal. This puts pressure on Riley to more easily give in and give Lebron max money and not push for the discount.
It's the same way Lowry got 4/48 from Toronto.

just can't see Wade opting out of $40 mil if he wasn't sure if LeBron was coming back or not.
I think there was a plan when they opted out, and things have not gone according to plan. Miami thought they'd be in position to land some pieces like Gortat, Lowry or Deng. They didn't land any of them, and have settled for McRoberts and Granger.
I don't think Riley anticipated the cash would be flying around with the size of these contracts. Something is off when Channing Frye gets that kind of contract. Outside of Melo/LBJ/Bosh it's really not a good FA class. It's been a seller's market.

New York or LA it seems like.

I dont think anyone trusts Lebatard

It's essentially the only shot he had at keeping LeBron. If that's the case, you put overpaying Wade on the table if it means an opportunity to eventually pay Wade less and keep LeBron. Risk is absolutely worth the reward.

Deng actually wants to be in Miami, but not at the price they've offered. Ariza is their #1 option.
This is all per Lebatard.

My issue with him is the amount of pro-Miami spin he puts on things. I feel like I've seen him sort of act like a prick on twitter to any NBA related person when they say negative things about the Heat.

Yea, I don't think there's any doubt they'd pay him whatever he wanted. I'm just saying that the notion for all of them to opt was to be able to get more depth for the bench.
I don't see how that works cap wise if signing Wade, Bosh, and Bron takes up close to 50m of the cap.

Don't understand Gasol's thinking here.
OKC is the best option for him.

Hearing LeBron James' meeting with Heat president Pat Riley may be taking place this afternoon.
