Is it though? You seriously think Haslem and D Wade opt out of those contracts without some sort of idea what LeBron was going to do? Has LeBron had any meetings? Chris Bosh opted out of his contract and went on vacation.
Okay, so who are the people you trust when it comes to the NBA who are saying that LeBron is definitely going back to Miami and everything else is just "smoke"?

Why would there be a need for smoke though? That's the point I don't get.

More motivation for Pat Riley and to convince Miami's owner to spend more.

Because Melo couldn't adapt? Besides teams reliant on ball movement is a rarity in the NBA anyways.
The last 4 championships have been won by teams with excellent ball movement fwiw.

Maybe Wade has some handshake agreement with Riley. Option one: opt out, take less, finish your career with LeBron. Option two: opt out, if LeBron leaves we'll give you a Kobe legacy deal.

Woj and Stein mainly. You haven't seen either of them make Broussard like claims like LeBron is leaning this way or that way.

Pat Riley typically does not overpay players, so I can't see this.

I'm just not buying it.. Bron and Bosh want to get paid.. the narrative before was for them to take less to get more depth.

No, but they have reported that LeBron going back to Cleveland is a real possibility and it's not just smoke.

I think by the end of free agency we look up and not much has really changed around the league
Never know, but this is definitely the safe bet.

Not concerned about LeBron partying with Wade. Might as well get every last use out of Dwyane's handicap parking pass.

And the possibility of them breaking up could convince Mickey Arison to spend some more money.

LeBron often brought up how upset he was to lose Mike Miller because of money.

I do think Bosh is intrigued by the idea of getting 20+ in Houston, which is why this has seemed to hit a bit of a snag. He was always the one who was pretty vocal about how he would be willing to take less money.
