But, are the Rockets sending assets to get Westbrook or to get off of Paul?
What difference does that make from the thunder’s perspective? They clearly got assets in return for Westbrook.

Need to factor in that with the recent trades, OKC will likely retain the 2020 first (top 20 protected to Philly) and 2022 first (top 14 protected to Atlanta).
From 2020 to 2026: 15 first-round picks and the swap rights in 4 years.

I have never dislike the russ the person. He just is low basketball iq. Harden would take him under his wing and show him smart basketball.... if that were to happen.

Because they also took on a negative “asset”. The Rockets would’ve probably had to include picks with Paul to trade him into someone’s cap space this year, so they didn’t “clearly” get assets for Westbrook.

because I wasn’t sure that the Thunder were going to get assets for Westbrook. But
Why would anyone think this?

Boomshockalockaon 7/6/19 at 7:18 am You want guys who can create offense for their teammates at elite levels. Generate wide open looks. Harden and Paul no one does it better than them. That’s why the Houston offense is all time elite every year...

I really don’t want to watch Russ in a Eockets uniform
I also really don’t want to watch CP3 for the Thunder, hopefully Presti has something up his sleeve.

They replaced an already negative asset with a smaller negative asset.

Again, what does that have to do with the thunder?

The thunder are the team that got the draft picks you just said Houston was going to have to include. Yes, they “clearly” did

The thing is any team that he wants to go to will be contenders. All those teams will have someone better than Russ. And those teams will all be hesitant very hesitant to bring him on. He just don’t play winning ball. this is gonna be hard to move. ...

Just because Paul is a more negative asset than Westbrook, that doesn’t mean that Westbrook and his contract are a positive asset. I don’t see how you can’t understand this. The Thunder could’ve probably Westbrook for Wall and assets, does that automatically mean that Westbrook and his contract are a positive asset?
ETA; they got assets for him because they traded him for one of the worst contracts in the league. One of the few worse than Westbrook’s.

Russ literally can’t even win a first round series without a Kevin Durant level teammate. Even paul George wasn’t enough to get him out rd 1. when you have harden you have all time elite team offense. When you have russ you are middle of the pack. ...
