Woj only reports information he’s given. I don’t think you know how this works.

I think you're confused. You're the ones that are desperate to clear cap.

Include a draft pick with Capela and we will consider taking him into our cap space.

Well I guess you don't want a really good player to build with for years to come.

Look, I've already got teams calling me making me some great offers for this kid. But I like you. I want to give you the first crack at making a deal.

I don't even know why I'm doing this to be honest. Send him to a division rival and watch him dunk all over us for years to come? You know what, maybe I better get on the phone and send him way out West instead...

Not gonna lie...

As a fan of a small market with our biggest FA acquisition of the last decade is prob a year of Jamal Crawford in his prime, id have traded Evan Turner and Leonard for Wiggins and a 1st at the start of last season.

Good luck man. I just find it comical that a team desperate to clear cap is asking for picks and not the usual other way around. Usually when a team needs to clear cap they attach picks to unwanted contracts.

Go make your deals. We are good.

The best I would consider is if we completely strike out in FA attaching the worthless Cleveland 2020 protected 1st.

Yes, unwanted contracts.

Clint Capela is not an unwanted contract. He's a 25 year old player just entering his prime who is making $15 million next season who you have locked down for the next 4 years with his contract maxing out at $18 million 4 years from now.

That is a great contract that is in demand. It's not an old player on the decline with an expensive contract a team is looking to get rid of. Just the opposite. A young player on a good contract.

Clearly he is. You're trying to move him into space so you can get someone else.

Houston doesn't want him, therefore: unwanted.

I get bunchie’s point. He basically means the Rox don’t have any leverage and because their intentions are clear (shed salary) they can be bent over the barrel.

I get your side. Capela would start on 2/3 of the teams in the league. I don’t think his contract is a great one but it’s decent. It could spark a “bidding” amongst teams who would rather a young starter on contract for four years than take a chance at overpaying someone in FA.

That’s not how you value players and contracts. Using your logic, any player who is traded is unwanted.

I’d hate to see Capela or Gordon or Tucker go. They are great players. But they would be traded with the hope of landing a player that is seen as even more valuable.

The Rockets aren’t trading him because he blows and he’s unwanted. He would be traded specifically because he’s a good player with value and can net them something in return that would help in building their roster.

They’re not shedding salary. They don’t need to shed salary to make a trade with Philly.

They want a draft pick to be used in a trade with Philly.

I’d be down for Capela, but you guys have convinced me over the last few months that he’s nothing without James, so that frightens me

You're leverage is lessened because you're on a short clock, and everyone knows it. You could possibly gain leverage if there are multiple suitors who want to give you a pick for Capela, though.

Sure they do, if Philly doesn't want to take salary (or the players that Houston has) in a trade. It might not be "shedding salary" per se, but they need a team to agree to take those players and give Philly something that they want. It's basically shedding salary if you're honest.

If Horford is getting 100 milly, I would’ve taken my chances in FA if I were Gasol

Meh, same difference. Trading him for a (likely low) pick(s). Let’s not pretend HOU will actually get something worthwhile here.

Let me ask you, what do you think is a realistic offer from a team like the Pels (rebuilding team with assets)?
