ratings from the previous rounds when the ratings were up from previous seasons

I believe that was short-lived.

quote:

All told, the 24 games of the Conference Semifinals averaged 4.1 million viewers, down 16% compared to the analogous round in 2019 (4.87 million). Before the weekend's TNT games helped boost the overall turnout, viewership for the second round of the playoffs was down 20% versus the comparable four series in the pre-pandemic postseason.

Since the playoffs began in Milwaukee on May 22, live coverage on ABC, ESPN and TNT has scared up an average crowd of 3.46 million viewers, down 7% versus the 3.73 million registered two years ago. While a single-digit drop counts as a win in the current media landscape (TV usage during the playoffs is down nearly 18% compared to the standard window two years prior), it’s also worth noting that the 2021 results are somewhat inflated by the addition of out-of-home viewers to the Nielsen sample.

Back in the 80's through the mid 90's I was as avid a NBA fan as I was NFL or MLB. Interest waned to pretty much just watching the playoffs until about 10 years ago, and then it waned to just watching the finals. After last year's woke shite ,and LeBitch and his dumbassery I'd rather watch two dogs frick. I'm never turning that shite on again. If I'm on a tv channel or listening to the radio and they start showing NBA highlights or talking about it off it goes. To hell with that woke shite. The NFL ain't far behind.

it's not the teams causing the ratings drop, it's the woke NBA that fans are rejecting.

I haven't watched one single second of the NBA for the past two years. And I'm being literal - not one second.

Incorrect. Ratings were higher in previous rounds when ATL and LA were in it. Bigger markets.

you're picking individual series. I'm talking overall.

Overall, since 2019 (pre-COVID) NBA broadcasts on ABC, ESPN and TNT are down 25 percent.

Boom what makes these teams bad. They each remind of the mavs championship team or the pistons championship team. They aren’t super teams and I think it’s kinda cool.

suggests that last year had worse ratings, and Lebron was on one of the teams and there were captive audiences

Captive audiences? No crowds had me turn off pretty much all sports all year. It was boring to watch with no crowds. Maybe NASCAR or golf or something.

Same with me. Everything felt like an exhibition.

MIL was a second rd exit team without absurd injury lucky. PHX was a rd 1 exit team without absurd injury luck. They just aren’t title caliber winning teams. When they are playing other teams who are in worse injury shape than them, they will of course look good. But they don’t come close to stacking up historically.

GM ran him off bc they blew a lead to the warriors. like that is any reason to lose your job. Warriors were beating the crap out of everybody.

that's why my comparison was to 2019 - which was pre-COVID. And my comparison was 2021 numbers, not a combo of 2020 and 2021.

So it was apples-to-apples, 2019 and 2021.

That sounds like an excuse for the other teams losing to them. Phoenix was better then the lakers all year. Same with Milwaukee they were a good team all year. They are both deep teams with a superstar and a guy in the next tier. Phoenix may have 3 superstars now with Ayton on the come up. They also may have depth problems because Saric tore his acl. Milwaukee lost their point guard before the playoffs began. I think the bulletts are the worse team to ever win a title

No the lakers were 21-6 before injury.

64 win pace. Second only to BKN when harden played at a 66 win pace.

Being healthy doesn’t make you better. It just makes you more healthy.

I heard a Cp interview yesterday where the media guy asked him a question about if this was the best team he had been on. He quickly cut them off and named 4-5 other teams he had been on and mentioned that the best team is not always the one that wins or advances. That is very true and I appreciate his honesty.

Injury’s happen but lebron was healthy through the playoffs. Anthony Davis stays hurt it’s just what he does. Harden just doesn’t do it for me great regular season player though. Boom who is your favorite championship team of all time

Lebron was a shell of himself. He was playing but he was really struggling.

Warriors w KD are my favorite title team. They are the greatest team to ever lace them up.
