Just look at that 3rd and 6 ... Houston just making killer plays on 3rd down ... ALL DAY LONG.

That's been the difference.

That amazing catch and run was the back-breaker.

Risking injury and wasting everyone at the stadium's time instead of taking a knee and going shake the other team's hand. I see your perspective but I also think it takes maturity to know when to surrender.

To Mr. Fourth Quarter, about this comment:

Risking injury and wasting everyone at the stadium's time instead of taking a knee and going shake the other team's hand. I see your perspective but I also think it takes maturity to know when to surrender....
---------------------------------------
Taking a knee and 'surrendering' is your idea of how to play football? Booing is how you would respond if you were there? That is not the way of any team I know of or how respectful fans of football behave. Navy is no different in playing to the end than any SEC team or any team I have watched. The booing showed disrespect from fans in the Houston stands who could have applauded the team who fought to the end against a better opponent yesterday. Instead they couldn't wait to party on the field an extra two minutes or so. Perhaps you missed the end where Houston and Navy players did meet on the field and chat and shake hands.

Nearly 50% of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2016 football team are going into the USMC as 2nd Lt. next May, the rest go into the Navy as Ensigns. Sooner or later those Navy players you berated will be in harm's way. They will be SEALS, aviators, rifle carrying Marines, and warship drivers.

Would you have them surrender when the going gets rough?
The bigger picture is to push yourself to the limit all the time.
Surrender should not be in anyone's vocabulary - that includes you, Mr. Fourth Quarter, which by the way, is an ironic screen name for your post.

The players on both sides of the field yesterday showed more maturity than your shoot from the hip post.

As a long time follower of LSU since before the days of Warren Rabb, Red Brodnax, Mickey Mangham, and Billy Cannon (you can wiki the 1958 team) I've enjoyed a lot of football as I enter my 7th decade. Never seen a team surrender, nor do I want to. Taking a knee is something the winning team does to show respect for the losing team and not rub their faces in it; not as you say - an act of surrender.

Do you want to see football played by Navy in a great setting? I'll buy a ticket for you in 2016 in Annapolis for a Navy home game if you can get there - and if you apologize for, or retract, your rude and ill-considered remark. If you are over age 21, a beer or two at the tailgate. It is not the same as going to Death Valley, but it is a beautiful fulfilling day of football played with heart until the end of the game.
