Great choice for the MVP

Congrats to the Nats and congrats to Stras on the MVP. What a great story after all the controversy with getting shut down back in 2012!

Sigh.
Went to work all day expecting the Astros to score 2 runs. Knew what was coming and it hit like a fricking train. Congrats on the championship Nationals fans, just glad this very weird world series is over. How the f*ck do you let a team win 4 games like that in your home stadium without putting up a fight.

2017 team scored a ton in the last 3 innings. This team did not.
2017 team also crushed in the 7-9 spots, this team did not.
And another thing about the regular season Astros offense: it turned out to be fools gold to a point. The Astros put up ridiculous numbers, but a lot of it was done while beating the shite out of the Mariners, Angels, and Rangers who spent a lot of the year with crap for pitching.
We learned up close throughout the post season that good pitching can shut down good hitting.
And the other thing we learned: manufacturing runs still has a place in baseball.
Nats insurance run in the 8th? Walk, steal, base hit with runner in scoring position.
How many times all year did we watch the Astros get a leadoff double and strand the runner? In the regular season it didn't matter, but it sure as hell did in the post season.
All said, I'll be back for more on April. Still a lot of good guys on the team. I'm sure there will be some shuffling, but this group will be in a spot to win 100 again.

Won't be much shuffling... but some.

Man. What the frick? Why would they do it while the series is still being played? Did you get yours?
Man, stop playing. They haven't done it yet huh?

f you think about this though, the Astros played mostly terrible on offense throughout the playoffs and beat a good Rays team and a historically good Yankees team while playing very poorly on offense. Then they go down 0-2 and come back to what should have been an easy task to take one out of two at home, all the while not really clicking at all on offense. So if they can do that at their worst, that says a lot about their talent...just not their heart I suppose.
You absolutely nailed this.

Rotation will be interesting. I assume Cole is gone. What becomes of Miley? Can LMJ return to form?
And I suppose it will be curious to see what they do with the outfield, namely Reddick.

You could look at this multiple ways

Keeping my melt self contained tonight. I'll say I'm extremely disappointed in how this team played the last 2 nights. Grienke deserved better from his teammates and manager who all left him out to dry.
Melt on baws.
Melt on baws.

Yeah I think the biggest take away is that the “historically good” Yankees team was fools gold and only won their division because of the injury to glasnow

Gerrit Cole, an impending free agent, was resistant to talk after Game 7. “I’m not an employee of the team,” he said to an Astros spokesperson. “I guess as a representative of myself...” Then he spoke.
Yes. Yes he is.

I wish Hinch would be a part of the shuffling. Dude is a major bitch.
