No. Just no. Take the marlins take the rays whatever don’t expand. Starting pitching is too watered down as is

Would be an epic fail. But they should move the Rays there for shits and giggles.

Agree...move a team...don't expand.

Well that team name certainly is generic enough for major league baseball.

That was Nashville's negro league team name, they want to honor that by being the first to use one.

Hopefully MLB doesn't become as stupid as the NHL by expanding to a bunch of markets that don't give a shite about the sport. Hell baseball probably never should have expanded to Miami and Tampa. They should have just added the two teams in Phoenix and Denver to get to 28 and called it a day.

That would be a cool spot for it - right off 24/65 and there's tons of parking nearby including a truck stop. 10/10 would relocate the Rays there.

They should name themselves the North Stars

Even if the story is cool it would be gay because of the Dallas Stars.

At least when the New York Giants football team ripped off the baseball team it was in the same city.

Hmmm. I mean they already have a major sports franchise there with the Titans and at least in the past three years the Nashville Sounds attendance average has been in the top 3 of the PCL

However, within a 250 mile radius you have the Braves, Reds, and Cardinals. The area is considered part of both the Braves and Reds TV market.

I still don't think it will happen as an expansion ballclub. Another team will have to be added to make it an even 32. A third of MLB has finished with 90+ losses. It would be even worse if another two teams are added to the mix.

I’m all for Nashville having a team, it’d be a great location for the MLB. But they should just move one of the shitty fan base teams

Don't forget the Preds do very very well in Nashville too.

But yeah I think everyone would prefer a relocation.

I don’t care about the history, the proposed team name is awful.

Is there enough corporate activity in Nashville to support 3 top level sports teams? I have hesitancy on this one. With the exception of the Preds, I don’t see Nashville supporting much anything else

From what I’ve read, they hardly support the Rangers’ minor league affiliate there.

Granted, not many actual top prospects play in AAA anymore now.

This would be my concern. Baseball season overlaps with the end of hockey season, and the beginning of football season.

Right now, the football/hockey combo works pretty well, as hockey season heats up once the Titans are out of the playoff race.

Also...I’m curious what would become of their new Triple A stadium.
