1994 Penn State would have a good chance. Best offense in CFB history IMO.
Kerry Collins
Ki-Jana Carter
Mike Archie
Joe Jureviecous (sp?)
Bobby Engram
Freddie Scott
Kyle Brady
That's just on offense, and their D was just as good.
That team mowed down their schedule and finished the season 12-0, it's a shame that Paterno didn't get the MNC that year because that was his best team.

Not only were we more talented than USC, we played a harder schedule and were challenged less often against that harder schedule. Throw in we played better against the only common opponent and the coach (likely to be in the college football HOF) flat out said we were better and well...
Too bad we did not have a chance to play for a third consecutive time. i am sure AU wanted to break the streak of getting torn up by SC the two previous years.

This is actually false. After the Syracuse and Washington games there was talk of Miami potentially being one of the goats. As the above poster mentioned, no team had ever slaughtered ranked teams in back to back weeks like Miami did.
bullshite.find one article or link FROM 2001 claiming Miami a GOAT team. You cant. Not one person claimed 2001 hurricanes to be a goat team until after all there Draft pics came out. You can't be an all time great team and let an unranked team almost beat you.

So you don't consider 01 Miami an all time great team? I bet you consider 11 lsu an all time great team despite their abysmal qb play and their absolute abortion of a performance in the bcsncg

Penn St that won Rose Bowl
USC 05 or 04

Don't blame LSU because your DC couldn't stop the same play from working over and over. By the backup QB at that.

Your point is valid but I'm talking about a one-and-done, no scouting, just lace them up type game.
I would bet '01 Miami wins every one of them. Hell, Sean Taylor was on special teams and rarely saw the field.
Miami had 5 NFL running backs on one squad. Portis, McGahee, Gore, Davenport, & Payton.
Let's not forget that they had 17 first round picks ok that team and countless other draft picks.

How so? One fluke game where I'm sure they were bored after absolutely destroying the competition.
Let's recap.
Humiliated Jo Pa on his turf and called off the dogs (his worst home loss in history). Crushed No. 12 Washington 65-7 and absolutely destroyed No. 14 Syracuse 59-0.
Florida State? No contest.
National championship? 34-0 at halftime.

You do realize they were the most talented team of all-time, no?
I encourage everyone to go look up canefreak2001 on YouTube. He has extensive highlites of every game of the '01 Miami Hurricanes season.

2011 Alabama and 2011 LSU, 95 Nebraska

GOAT
You are confusing talent with greatness. They aren't always the same thing. 2010 Alabama had 12 first round draft picks on its roster, including a bunch of other players that ended up being drafted, and still managed to lose 3 games.
2001 Miami was considered a dominant team back in '01 but I distinctly remember pundits in the media talking about the weakness of their conference schedule and how it was making them look better than they actually were.
It wasn't until several years later, when their draft picks started showing off, that people began to retroactively proclaim '01 Miami as the GOAT. I would certainly call them the most talented team of all-time. But I think 1995 Nebraska was the better TEAM.

'05 Texas.
Vince Young that season could have beaten anyone.

Best offense of all time? Come on man. When I think back on the best O's in cfb, 94 PSU is not at the top imo.

And I will remind you that team won 13 games beating top 10 teams and the eventual NC,
