Pilots win 6-3

56-0 is secure

Here's where the NAIA's 10-team bracket isn't really fair...

2-0 LSUS advances to Wednesday

2-0 Georgia Gwinnett faces 1-0 Southeastern (Fla.) tomorrow to see who faces LSUS at 8:30 PM central time Wednesday

10 team tournament is stupid. The bracket looks like what a 5 yo would make.

Watched the whole game last night. Was very impressed by the quality of play. It didn’t seem any worse than D1 beside the velo.

Was expecting smaller players, on the field were some jacked guys and a 6’7.

Was expecting sloppy defense, plays were being made all over the field.

Was expecting weak catchers, hardly any steals and nearly back picked a couple.

Was expecting second tier hitters, but it was a doubles parade.

What exactly is NAIA?

at the highest level, the best teams can compete with the middle to lower end of D1, but again we're talking like the top 5-10 teams in NAIA

LSUS is loaded with seniors with tons of experience and are very mature and disciplined players

I played NAIA ball back in 90-92. One of our outfielders was a 4th round draft pick (batted .447 with 56 SB) and one of our pitchers (95mph velocity) was a second round draft pick. The 4th round pick would have made it to the bigs had he not had an Injury while trying out for the Olympic team his draft year. He ended up making it to AA ball and had to leave baseball due to his back injury. This is back when there were many rounds in the baseball draft. There are good players that play NAIA ball.

mostly small Christian schools that offer scholarships. About a half step below d2 in most sports talent wise. I coached track/xc at an naia for a couple years.

Southeastern (Fla.) beat Georgia Gwinnett 2-1 last night & will face LSUS at 8:30 PM central tonight in what amounts to a quarterfinal game

Both teams should be on their #3 starting pitchers for tonight

These two are usually powerhouses. Southeastern recruits really well generally. Georgia Gwinnett has a really good coach.

Birmingham Southern College. My teammate is now the head coach at Auburn, Butch Thompson. I played against him in juco ball and with him at BSC. He was one of our Top pitchers and I was the starting Left fielder and lead off hitter.
