My first thought was this is child’s play compared to what Artest did.

I turned the game off and caught up on the newest season of Always Sunny. I come back to the board and see this happened? Goddamn I missed some shite go down.

Just saw the replay of the whole thing. Garrett should face assault charges and shouldnt play football again tbh. Hes lucky he caught Rudolph with the one part of the helmet that could do the least amount of damage, that was a full force swing, wtf.

Was anyone expecting way worse? I mean was Rudolph even injured?

It could have been way worse which is what makes it bad. But reading the thread title and the first couple of pages of the thread I thought somebody died.

Yeah the "Graphic" thing wasn't needed.
But the whole thing is pretty wild and out there

A bullet to the head is too good for that fricker.

There is no place for that in football.

So he should die?

That's not an overreaction.

#65 Larry Ogunjobi for Cleveland will get fined or suspended a game for nailing Rudolph after he got hit with the helmet.
He certainly good. That was arguably worse because it wasn't in a fit of rage. Also, Rudolph clearly yelled "bitch" after the hit.

hyperbole at it’s finest... if he connects good, it might knock him silly for a few minutes. I’d say 4 games is about right. Garret lost his cool and mind for a minute, did an awful thing, but let’s not think that it’s his character... suspend him 4 games, fine him, and move on.

What he did is worse than what Haynesworth did all those years ago and he got 5 games. That was also before the NFL's safety push.

6 games or more.

He’ll get suspended for the rest of the year for sure (6 games) and probably a decent amount next year (I’d guess 2-4, at the very most 8). I think that would be more or less fair solely based on precedent.

IIRC some lineman a few years ago got 3 games for yanking another guy’s helmet off and hitting in the face with it. Yet it was no where near as harsh as what Garrett did tonight.

I feel like a lot of these guys over the years (Haynesworth, Burfict, etc) getting only getting one or two more games suspensions than if they had just gotten in a normal fight is really going to be a PR nightmare for the next few weeks too.

That's what I'm sitting over here in awe at. Rudolph's life could have been forever changed or even ended right there with a clean hit and enough force. There's absolutely no way he should escape jail time for this.

He will, but he shouldn't.

which is pretty much where im at. coming into tonight, the worst thing you could say about myles is that hes taken some late hits in the past. there is no excuse for how he acted tonight and its something he will carry with him for the rest of his career. but he will get suspended for the rest of the year, may carry over into next year, and then we will move on. id be shocked if he gets burfict'd and is cut and is out of the league

that is no way minimizing what he did tonight. it was really bad and he deserves to be punished severely. just dont see him out of the league because of this

It’s only a matter of time until anyone who’s ever gone to Texas Gay&M snaps.

Results oriented thinking. He swung that helmet full windup and tomahawk chop. If it hits Rudolph more square on, could have easily busted his face/head open and you could have had a Rudy Tomjanovich situation.

If you shoot somebody with a gun a defense of "well I only ended up grazing him" doesn't make it not a serious crime.

Attempted murder? Now, honestly, what type of crime even is that?!
Do they give a Nobel Prize for attempted chemistry?
