Mason Rudolph is a Republican and Trump supporter. How much y’all wanna bet the media will mention that fact and try and spin it to justify Garret’s assault?
I mean we have a President getting impeached over a Dem getting Billions of taxpayer kickbacks so anything is possible

Late hits happen all the time in football. QBs trying to rip players helmets off doesn’t. Myles Garrett is 100% responsible for everything after that no doubt, but to sit here and act like Mason Rudolph didn’t grab his helmet is just ridiculous.

Garret hit him late, then kept him wrapped up well after he was on the ground, refusing to let Rudolph up. Rudolph was grabbing his helmet because it was the only place he could grab him to try to get Garret off of him.
The only thing Rudolph did was try to get his fricking helmet back.
Myles was 100% at fault for that series of events leading up to and including hitting him on the head with his own helmet.

Yes Mason Rudolph tried to rip his helmet off AFTER GARRETT PILE DRIVED HIM INTO THE GROUND WAY AFTER THE PLAY.

You got downvoted to hell but you’re kind of right. However, Rudolph never would have reacted the way he did had Garrett not taken him down well after the ball had been thrown. Garrett showed malicious intent first and Rudolph reacted in a negative way, though I’d probably do the same as most on here would if someone had done that to us. Tough spot for him to be in. I have a feeling they might suspend him too, though.

Look, I get there’s a lot of self-righteous hot take opportunism going on, but how is calling this a criminal assault considered a hot take? Yanking a guy’s helmet off and bashing him over the head with it isn’t even remotely a part of the game.

Why are you responding to me? I totally agree. Rudolph should press assault charges.

Garrett could legitimately be charged for something he did on the field. This is unchartered territory here.

I even admit that Myles Garrett took him to the ground late, but again, that happens all the time in football. Late hits happen. QBs trying to rip helmets off afterwards don’t. Again, I don’t want to make excuses for what Myles Garrett did afterwards here, he acted like a coward and a bitch and he should be punished by the league for the rest of the season. All I’m saying is he wasn’t innocent.

People saying ban Garret for life are going overboard. I’d say a four game suspension would be sufficient.

What he did is worse than what Haynesworth did all those years ago and he got 5 games. That was also before the NFL's safety push.
6 games or more.

Dude could've been potentially paralyzed or even worse and 4 games is suitable

They suspend dudes for 6+ games for domestic violence. This will be worse than that.
