I'm really high on Wilson. He is a tough son of a bitch that projects as a top 6 power forward. The more I read on Latta, the more I like. He is getting compared to Downie. And yes, those two on the Caps roster will make this team a menace to society. They'll be a nightmare to play against, much like Boston. And from what I've read Latta could be our potential third line C in a couple of years.

Forgot who, but they said Latta could play on the Caps 3rd line RIGHT NOW. I think that overstates it a tad, but I will say he probably could play on our 4th line. He's got to be better than Jay Beagle. I do think GMGM is toughening up the roster for the move to the Patrick Division. It's why he's trading out the fancy skating Euro and keeping the monster on the boards.

After 11 games, the Caps were 2-8-1 and in dead last in the NHL standings. 26 games later, the Caps are in first place in the Southeast.

Amazing. I never thought they'd take the lead in the division, much less with 11 games still left on the schedule. Huge f'n win.

Gaborik already has a goal and an assist tonight. CBJ leads 2-1.

Blues take down the Blackhawks in Chicago, in a shootout.

Big win for STL.

Still more points than Anaheim.
For now. Doesn't really matter when the Pens are just gonna get bounced for having no D.

Seems like you don't know much about the Pens then if you think they have no D.

Considering Anaheim has allowed 2 fewer goals on the season and the East is a much much more offensive conference than the West.

Wait... what?

Marc-Andre Fleury's been great. He has a save percentage of .916. He also has not posted posted a save percentage above 90% in the playoffs since the Pens won the Stanley Cup. If he turns into a pumpkin again, the Psn defense gets exposed. The Pens don't allow a ton of goals because their offense is so damn good. They possess the puck forever and don't allow you to ever get your time in the zone. However, if you can establish possession, no, the Pens defense is not that great.

Of the eight East teams currently in the playoffs, they rank fifth in goals allowed. The Caps rank sixth, for frame of reference, and they allowed about a billion goals in the season's first month.

Alex Ovechkin is good at hockey. Seriously, if you like hockey at all, go click on the link and watch his second goal of the night:

LINK

I mean, wow. Ovie got a hat trick which means he now has 23 goals and is tied for 2nd in the NHL in goals scored. After 10 games, he had 2 goals and 3 assists. In the last 28 games, he has 21 goals and 13 assists.

Oh, and del Zotto is getting a call from the Shanhammer for embedding his elbow in James Neal's forehead.

Went to the Canes/Rangers game tonight.

Henrique was unbelievable. Canes have serious defensive issues and just make a ton of boneheaded plays.

Completely whiffing on hitting the puck, mishits, they abounded.

The worst part is that there were more Rangers fans than Canes fans in Raleigh tonight. Pathetic

no, the Pens defense is not that great.

Disagree completely, one of the best defensive teams in hockey the last month+.

The addition of Eaton and Murray have cemented the back end stability the Pens needed.

3 straight shutouts, and 11 games last month with 2 goals or less allowed.

When healthy, the combination of offensive dominance, solid goaltending from Fleury and Vokoun, and solid defense, well, 15 straight speaks for itself.

Funny that three quarters of that streak were without Letang, the quickest defenseman and a guy who pushes the puck up out of our zone fast and as well as any defensive in the league.
