Moss Point used to be one of the best programs in the state. I personally watched them beat the shite out of my Clinton Arrows in the 5A state championship game back in 2000.

They have fallen off hard.

Yeah West Monroe went to Moss Point in 2000 and beat them but that may have been the best WM team ever, if not 1998.WM also beat Clarksdale that year if I remember right and they won 4A in Mississippi?

Good songwriter. I first heard her playing at the Floyd Country Store back in the day. It was pretty cool watching her career evolve. After seeing her there and to be able to see 3 shows in Montana in one week, then the Netherlands, just blows my mind how she has gone global from where she started from.
I asked her before the Rexford, Montana show what was the fastest she had ever written a song, she said less than 30 minutes. I think a lot of songwriters could say the same, but it’s still crazy to me.
She’s also insanely fit. Her workout plan is fierce and she is committed.

In the late 90's LSU had three Moss Point players on the team at one time. OL Alcender Jackson, and DL's Kareem Mitchell & Muskingum Barnes. Barnes coached at Murphy High in Mobile County not too long ago. Think he's a realtor in Mobile now.

ETA: My dark horse candidate to do well over there this year is the Kosciusko Whippets. Per MaxPreps, they currently are 6-0, with one district game played.
They beat Neshoba Central 49-7, Florence 42-0, Leake Central 49-7, Olive Branch 48-21, Choctaw County 41-25 and Gentry 45-8.

Their district includes Louisville, Yazoo City, Gentry and Greenwood.

Louisville is the only team that was in the same district as them in the 70's when I lived there. Louisville was also the best team in the district back then, but Kosciusko was good too.
