X - Most viewed College Football Games of 2023

LSU is the only SEC Team in the Top 7.

Ohio State with 3 of the top 4.
Ohio State vs Michigan viewership was more than double the Iron Bowl.

Congrats on playing on a Sunday night to open the season. Y’all got blown out, so subtle “look at me” post is weird.

Michigan/PSU equaled LSU/FSU on a Sunday night?

Just proves that adding FSU/Miami to the SEC would be pointless in terms of ratings.

nb4 "why stop at 7?"

Good numbers all around but I'm still floored by the amount of people who watched CU this year. He won't be pulling these numbers next year, for sure.

Right. An awful flex and is a good example of why the B1G is in a position to make a lot more money than SEC and their marriage to the Mouse.

You can thank the SEC East for lack of depth and UGA for having the worst schedule of all time. It shouldn't be a problem next year

If they can get the Los Angeles market to give a frick about college football, it is going to smash records.

I lived in SoCal for a bit and had real estate ventures there.

There are a ton of B1G fans in SoCal. Even with the fair weather support if USC/UCLA fans, the B1G viewership will be huge in SoCal.

I used to run from El Segundo to the Manhattan Beach pier along the Marvin Braude Trail along the beach. Totalnof 6 miles.

Those multi million dollar beach homes were littered with Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc flags.

You can look at the data from all season and see how the LSU games fared. For instance, UGA outdrew them every single week both teams played outside of week 1 (their Sunday night game against FSU) and week 4 (they played Arkansas while we played UAB).

In the games UGA and LSU shared opponents, UGA outdrew the tigers

vs Ole Miss:
UGA 4.8 million
LSU 3.7 million

vs Auburn:
UGA 6.4 million
LSU 2.16 million

vs Mizzou:
UGA 7.0 million
LSU 2.34 million

vs Florida:
UGA 5.9 million
LSU N/A; likely much lower

vs Alabama:
LSU 8.8 million
UGA TBD, likely much much higher

USC and UCLA might actually somewhat fill their stadiums now.

Will be fans of opposing teams, but...

I think you missed my point.

*And not a single UGA game made the top ten.

Do you expect applause here or something? Go to Tiger rant with this.

It’s cringe to brag about your market appeal when the game was played before the NFL season started and was literally the only football game on tv. Fine if you win maybe. LSU we got embarrassed.

I only opened the link to see what team you intentionally avoided mentioning in the top ten. That team has three of the ten most viewed. Weak troll job!

Nope, and that’s fine by us. When Colorado/CSU had over 9 million viewers, it doesn’t matter.

The big ten had games in every time slot each week on broadcast TV. Hitching us to ESPN only and splitting ABC with the ACC and Big 12 was a massive mistake.

If we start losing out on more tv money in a noticeable way because of this, Sankey will be the cause of our demise.

Try 19 million.
