Bill Mueller won the AL batting title in 2003. Good player, but definitely an outlier. He was the only player I didnt recognize when looking at the winners from past 20 seasons. Looking at past winners back to the 70s, he seems to be the only one to not make an allstar game in his career.

Is that really an award though? Leading a statistical category?

Bob Hamelin:

1994 AL rookie of the year

Major leagues

Hamelin won the 1994 AL Rookie of the Year Award as a member of the Kansas City Royals, when he posted a .282 batting average and hit 24 home runs (earning him the nickname "the hammer") with 65 RBIs during the strike-shortened season.

After the major leagues

Hamelin abruptly quit his professional baseball career while playing in the minor leagues for the Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers AAA Team) in 1999. After grounding out, he went back to the dugout and told manager Gene Roof, "I'm done", ending his professional baseball career as a player.[1]

There’s the Rapinoe melt.

She’s the greatest because of that.

Rudy Gobert

NBA Defensive Player of the year, apparently 2 years in a row (2017 and 2018).

Don’t really watch the NBA and barely heard of him. Shows how much attention defense gets in the NBA.

I feel a lot of people heard of him last year considering he was pretty much the face of the NBAs Covid outbreak

Willie McGee didn't make the All-Star game when winning second batting title in 1990. LINK
