That’s gotta be wrong. I was told in April that the Yankees would set a record for wins and were clearly the best team in the MLB.

I don’t keep up with baseball like I used to. Surely they cleared the 100 win bar right?

They were on pace for 117 wins a good chunk into the season. I want to say it was almost the all-star break.

they were on like a 120+ win pace midway through june, were one game better over the first 60 games than the dodgers were in 2020 when they had the highest single season win percentag. it was down to 112 by the all star game

either way, its nearly impossible to keep win paces like that up which is why it was dumb when people kept acting like they were going to

The Braves were the most impressive team in baseball since the start of June. They have won 70% of their games since that time.

having a 1/100th of a percentage better win pace than the dodgers after the first 2 and a half months of the season would look good on a shirt

As they say, 60 game seasons don't matter.

While there have been 25 seasons with two or more 100-win teams, only ten times have at least three teams finished at or above the mark, and 2019 and 2022 are the only instances of four teams finishing at or above the 100-win threshold.

5 would have been most ever

There were also 4 in 2019
3 last year, 3 in 2018.
Seeing multiple 100 wins teams often now. Why is that?
Feel like years back that wasn’t the case

1909- Pirates, Cubs, Tigers, A's
1949- Yankees, Dodgers, Red Sox, Cardinals

Pretty fitting that the Yankees finished with 99 wins considering which player carried them all season.
