If Detroit scores a TD here do they go for 2, so as to ensure even if Chicago were to get a FG after Detroit would still have a chance to tie?

I'm amazed at this game, Detroit have looked straight garbage and still have a chance. Sure Detroit's defense has played well, and Chicago has an amazing defense, but both these offenses are pretty pedestrian.

no. i know it's now irrelevant, but no. they keep it so that 14 points has a chance to win the game.

the sheer amount of incomplete passes is stretching this game out. Detroit would have been done if Chicago got some rushing first downs, or completed some passes.

With how deep these Safeties are playing, why isn't Detroit abusing the middle of the field with the TE? Pettigrew is pretty athletic. They don't always need to check down short or force feed Calvin.
