+1 Very very true.

Calling it human cockfighting and almost making it disappear from the US while it was gaining popularity in Japan and Brazil hardly makes him the savior of the sport.

The UFC later decided to "go legit" for business reasons due to political pressure that forced it off PPV. I argue they would have gone legit without government intervention telling people what they shouldn't be allowed to do or watch.

UFC/Affliction has created the ultimate "wanna be" - the guys wearing the gear, who go out to clubs. I guess ths is the new camouflauge for "please don't frick with me because I am not a bad arse at all."

I enjoy watching the sport, but I will be damned if I am going to wear a jacket, endorsing it. You might as well wear a WCW or WWE shirt with Sting on it.

* if you ARE an MMA fighter (I have a friend who is in BR), then wear all you want.

Crow Sting would not last a second in the cage with Couture. 80's ducktail Sting on the other hand...

I'm not going to lie, I had a couple shirts when they first came out because I liked the shirt/fighter on the shirt, but I soon became embarassed to wear them in public and quickly got rid of them.

Disclaimer: I do not look like a badass nor did I pretend to be one.

I have no problem with non-fighters wearing Affliction/Tapout shirts in theory. I acutally hope these companies do well because they sponsor fighters/events which brings more and better mma to us fans.

I however would never wear one of these and think anyone who wears one is a douche because they are really, really cheesy shirts.

I don't have any of the shirts because I don't like them. But wear what you want. Do you call guys wearing LSU jersey's posers? Wear whatever the hell you want and if a guy gives you shite about what you or someone else is wearing tell him to quit being gay. Fashion should never be discussed among men.

I have a couple of friends that still wear the shirts. Neither are the pretend badass type. They just fall under the misled fashion category but I don't have the heart to tell them anything. Hopefully they'll follow my lead. One of them will be at the fight this weekend (which I declined going to...like an idiot).

You can't escape the Stinger Splash in the octagon. He's also well versed at submission moves, ala the Scorpion Deathlock.
