If you team hasn't been cheated yet, just wait they will.

Here's a Jomboy youtube showing just how stupid and flawed it is.

Yeah my A's were the victim this time but the point is how shitty all of this is. How in the world does MLB not see how effed up review is and how no one would care but the pussy arse umps if review overturned the umps?!

Hell, we'd actually respect everyone more if they owned up to a mistake. Mistakes happen. That's ok.

And it really pisses me off how the umps on the field turn into absolute counts about it when managers rightfully object to a wrong ruling.

I cannot wait for umps to lose their job to robots. Every frick up like this makes us want it sooner and sooner.

Get rid of replay and let the managers go beserk on umps again.

I used to be fully against the electronic strike zone but I've come around to the idea.

We shouldn't automatically know that Joe West or Angel Hernandez will ruin the game, yet we do.

ETA: They're getting ridiculous with reviews on stolen bases, so much so that it's like the NFL catch rule.

If a dude clearly steals a bag but the spike on his cleat raises off by .1 inch for a fraction of a second, it shouldn't be overturned.

Replay has done the same stupid thing to basketball. Like when a guy swats the ball out of bounds but it went off the guy who was dribbling’s fingernail last so the team that swatted it OOB gets the ball. That call stays with the team who had the ball 99.99% or the time except for when they slow mo replay it at the end of games.

Like the end of the Virginia/Texas Tech national championship game.

Electronic strike zones need to happen. The strike zone in the Braves/Cubs game last night was atrocious. Jerry Meals should have to donate his game check.

Yordan was called out on one worse than that yesterday. It's terrible.

Ross got tossed a couple of days ago for arguing strikes in the 9th. Ump missed that call by about 6 inches. I'm all for electric zones at this point.

Officiating and replay in all sports is still wrong most of the time.

There needs to be accountability in officiating but for some reason people don't like to have that discussion.

This is what I have issue with the most in baseball. In no other sport do you get tossed from the game for arguing with a game official. Umpires have been situated in a position of being beyond reproach for far too long.

Replay in all sports should be limited to 30 seconds. If you can’t tell, call on the field stands.

Yes they do. ESZ will increase offense and speed games up. All of the old purest who want 1-0 5 hour games need to watch golf.

I agree. Of course he's going to be pissed. A 1 run game in the 9th inning with Hader pitching. The last thing you need to do is give him an extra strike.

And only using real time views, no super slow motion.

Ignore the original ruling except in cases of 0 clear angles or video/technology errors.

Give the umps/refs time and multiple views/camera angles to make a call based on their view of it while watching and move on.

Taking minutes over mundane calls is brutal.

Taking super slow motion videos of stolen bases or out of bounds plays or catches is even worse

Having the default be “call on the field” which doesn’t have multiple angles and watched only once in real time is the most absurd

Every league does isn’t always replay wrong IMO

MLB umpires seem especially bad this year.

Replay review has sucked a lot of excitement out of sports by putting more focus on officiating.

I like both of these stipulations, and I find the one about using game speed views in replay especially interesting.

Give the replay crew the same speed on replay that the ump had in real time. If you can’t find a discernible difference after a few replays, then the call stands.

I agree to some extent. However, other sports have penalties for the same actions:

15 yard unsportsmanlike (football)
Technical foul with free throws (basketball)

What could the penalty be? Because you can't just give free reign to the coaches to go ape shite.

Robot strike zone is no good. Part of the game is a pitcher learning what the ump will give him. To me, this is like a DB figuring out what the refs will allow him to do to a WR, and similar instances in basketball. That said, some umps have strike zones that are atrocious, and those guys should have the threat of going to the minors looming over their heads.
