And Gray is making no money. The Yankees are looking like they'll finally get under the luxury tax.

Great deal. Mateo was blocked anyway.

I didn't realize McKinney is raking for the RailRiders. A smaller part of that Chapman trade paying off as well

Am I wrong in thinking we got over on Billy bean?

considering the deal was just done, yes

Mateo obviously the headliner

Kaprellien had a lot of hype before his injury. There were talks he would be in NY some time this season. TJ is out the way, too.

Fowler is basically MLB ready.

I thought Gray would cost more as im not crazy about Mateo as the headliner, but I think Kap and Fowler arent getting the hype right now bc they are injured. Think this could end up ok for both sides

I think with how lights out Adams has been (and he should be called up soon), that made Kaprellien more expendable

So Rutherford, Fowler, Mateo, Littrel, and Kaprelian are the prospects the Yankees lost during the deadline.

I'm just glad no Adams, Torres, Frazier, or Andujar

If you compare that to what they gained last year, seems like a net gain.

Kap was their best pitching prospect before injury

Risky for beane to buy injured guys but if this was pre injury Yankee fans would be crying. He likely couldn't have gotten all 3

Cashman has put together a nasty staff in NY. It still all comes down to whether or not Tanaka can build on his last start and turn his season around. They have 4 guys in their pen that could be closers for a lot of teams.

Serverino
Gray
CC
Tanaka
Garcia

LR - Green 1.83 ERA
LHP - Shreve 2.70 ERA
Warren - 2.06 ERA
Robertson - 2.75 ERA
Kahnle - 2.18 ERA
Betances - 2.68 ERA
Chapman - 3.03 ERA

Warren is the only one in the pen with a K/9 under 10. It will be interesting to see what they do with Montgomery.

Either 6 man or Montgomery heads to the bullpen.

Between Tanaka and CC, they'll still need a long man every 5-6 days. Montgomery can be that guy instead of Warren/Cessa.
