Everything is fluid, of course, but as of now Syndergaard still scheduled to start tonight in Chicago. As @Ken_Rosenthal noted Ervin Santana was pulled from AAA start. But more likely in case starter needed Thurs for Wheeler

The Mets really fudged up this deadline I feel like. Nobody is making a move and I’m getting impatient as hell. I wanna see chaos. Not to the extent of the NBA deadline but there’s literally nobody doing anything.

The Blue Jays did for setting the market so low. It also doesn't help that teams are treating their prospects like gold bars and afraid to move them.

Feels like I'm watching one of those Beachfront Bargain Hunt type shows on HGTV. Everyone wants a castle on the beach but none willing to pay for it... yet at least.

Waiting... waiting.... and AA will end up trading for a mid-tier reliever and a veteran bench piece... while giving up a total of 1 lower-level prospect, a hot dog stand, and a case of Coors light to a last place team in the AL.

Call the Pirates and see what they want for their closer -

Vazquez, he's got 21 saves with a 1.87 ERA. The Pirates are in last place. They're sellers and the Braves need a closer.

Nah it’s def on the Mets. Resetting the market in a year where they aren’t even close to competing. Toronto accepted the best offer they acquired is what was reported.

I wonder how much that has to do with last year and the Archer trade. They trade looks pretty shitty right now for Pittsburg.

If the Mets offer what the top offer they received, that just means everyone else dropped the ball. Their incompetence and penny pinching shaped the market.

The Mets saw a good deal and capitalized. Should they have let that deal pass away?

I really don't know what was going on, you know the Jay's probably had better offers. It just sounds like both clubs gave a big FU to the free agent market. Part of me think the Jays did it to screw Stroman because he rubbed some the wrong way

Well this is something

Braves have shown some interest in Yasiel Puig, one of many OF available. They do not, however, appear engaged on Reyes, Castellanos, Dyson or Peralta.

Some teams want too much for rentals as well.

Cubs and Cardinals are in a battle of finding the biggest dumpster diving pitchers. Each trying to out dump the other.

Low hanging fruit moves at their best.

lol... I agree. I know the Cubs are trying to (at least saying they are), keep their higher ranked prospects. They don't have many so that would make since.

The Mets fricked the market for teams wanting a SP by taking Stroman and not trading Thor

Well in my opinion the Mets didn’t get any better. Their problem is hitting. They have damn near the best 1/2 in the game and have a losing record when they pitch. Hell DeGrom had a losing record last year with a 2 ERA. It was just unnecessary acquisition. And in return they can’t moce Thor or Wheeler for the price they wanted pre-Stroman.

Wasn't just the Mets, as I stated earlier the Blue Jays played a role in that
