@Buster_ESPN

Giants are trending upward. That said, the front office continues to go through the process (not surprisingly) of cultivating conversation around Madison Bumgarner and other pitchers in case they become sellers. Other teams say Giants still in listening mode re: Bumgarner.

@Ken_Rosenthal

One of many scenarios #Mets are exploring, per sources: Syndergaard to #Padres, then using some of return to land Stroman from #BlueJays. Not known which players would go from SD to NYM if deal occurred. RHP Cal Quantrill, a Canadian native, would be logical target for TOR.

....the eternal struggle of Mets stupidity. How on earth does that make any sense? Just keep Syndergaard if you're gonna flip the prospects.

@JeffPassan
Left-handed reliever Jake Diekman has been traded to the Oakland A's, league sources tell ESPN. Diekman had been pursued by a number of teams on trade market before Kansas City agreed to deal him to A's. Oakland bullpen has monster stuff with Treinen, Hendriks, Trivino, Diekman.

Syndergaard at his best is better than Stroman and he's got an extra year of control. that would be such a a bizzare trade.

Say what you want but sports need franchises like this. The suns, the mets, the jets. They all make their respective league so interesting just due to being wtf wild cards

As an Astros fan, I would have been happy if you got Diekman. So you should now be happy.

In such divisive times, we need cluster fricks like the Mets to bring us all together in laughter

If the Mets trade Thor why not trade deGrom and completely rebuild the farm system. Stroman has one year less of control than Thor. That would be one of the worst moves a team has ever made.

We all know this is what makes sense but the Wilpons don't make any sense. They want at least the illusion of being competitive while sacrificing the chance to actually compete. Why? They are cash poor and won't just sell the team.

If the Mets are going to frick up can we at least get Thor since the As used black magic to get Diekman?

Like holy hell. The idea of taking a pitcher, trading him for prospects, taking some of those prospects and trading for a lesser pitcher, all to recoup some prospect capital after trading way too much of it for a declining cano.

This is Dannsby Swanson/shelby Miller level of dumb and I hope it happens just to witness it

If Stroman had 4 years of control on a cheap contract it wouldn’t be terrible but he’s a free agent after next season. They would basically get maybe 1 top 100 prospect for Thor and a year less of a worse pitcher.
