Please. Profar and Gallo for Lucroy would be great. But...we need another starting pitcher.

Bad trade for the Rangers imo. Wish we didn't give up Tate for a 39 year old DH.

39 YO DH can still hit. Plus he's a switch-hitter; the Rangers are overloaded with LH batters (many of whom can't hit LH batting practice much less real LH pitching).

Tate is going to be a set up guy

Yeah, I think this is basically the Rangers admitting they whiffed with the #4 pick.

I don't think I would give up Profar and Gallo for likely just one year of Lucroy if he has his way

Agreed. Fine with parting ways with Gallo and some other prospects, but not both.

unless Texas is one of the 8 no trade team she's locked up for next year period. 18 months to work out a long deal? He's a Top 5 catcher man, proven player. I'd do it. JMO

Could be good news for the Rangers. Time is running short.

Gallo and Brinson, OK (Brinson isn't looking too good at AA and is still better than Gallo).

Profar, no (not until the off-season where I think he could bring more, or if Desmond leaves in FA then train him to be a CF).

You know, I keep hearing about the Rays and their young pitchers, but if they are in such high demand why in the world would the Rays want to deal them?

I believe the eight were Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, Tigers, Marlins, Rays, Diamondbacks, and Athletics. So Lucroy couldn't veto a trade to the Rangers.

By all accounts, he doesn't have the arm to be a CF anymore. He'd be corner.

Moore is a free agent after next year so I understand it with him. Odorizzi, I think they have some rotation depth that's near the major leagues (and Matt Andriese in their pen could be a serviceable starter too) that could take his spot

I feel like they would be dealing Archer at the floor of his value honestly and he's on a very friendly deal

Because Tampa Bay is the Florida version of Oakland--cash-strapped with no real fan base. (When they were playing the Rangers in the playoffs in 2010-2011 they barely had 1/2 the stands full; even with early starting times the Rangers had sellouts every playoff game)

I don't know much about their system, but they have pitchers that are close to MLB ready?

ETA: Pirates and NYY talking about Ivan Nova. In a related story, Cubs hitters lick their chops.

Then LF (unless Mazara could be a CF but I don't think he's that fast). Still better than anyone we've had in LF (Rua is OK but his hitting is questionable).
