Not a bad return for Britton. O's seem like they are taking this rebuild more serious than I originally thought. I like it so far. Now, if we can trade Schoop and maybe a couple others and get a decent return...there might be some light on the horizon in a few years.

The Yankees trade for Britton and the Orioles are about to blow a two run lead in the ninth with Britton not available out of the bullpen.

Britton to Yankees close to being finalized, as others reported, but final hurdles more than just waiting for O's game to be over. Players not notified as of now, per sources. Suggests medical review not yet complete.

I have a gut feeling Schoop doesn’t go anywhere

I feel about 60/40 (60 being) on him being traded. Rumors are out there that a few teams has shown some interest in him but I don't know how serious any of those teams are. He is controlled through next year and if they can't get a deal before the deadline, they need to trade him in the offseason. They had the opportunity to extend him this past offseason and they didn't...which gives me the feeling that they will eventually trade him away. But then again...its Baltimore.

The Red Sox have officially struck a deal to land righty Nathan Eovaldi from the Rays, as Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic first reported (via Twitter). Young lefty Jalen Beeks will go to Tampa Bay in return, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times (Twitter link).

Yesss!

Good for Beeks. Rays will develop him into a solid starter.

Evoldi is insurance I guess for Rodriguez. Wondering what their plan for Pedroia is, will they look at Dozier/Escobar to come and play 2B or will they roll with Nunez/Holt moving forward.
Also, Joe Kelly what happened to him? Dude is sporting almost a 5 ERA after being pretty dominant last year and the first 2 months of this year.

What about Pomeranz? Very good last year but 6.91 ERA and 1.82 WHIP? Yikes.

I know it is not as uncommon as it seems but it is weird AL East team are trading and talking about potential trades with each other. Hate the Yankees but would gladly accept their prospects in trades

tduecen....what can you tell me about the prospects the O's got last night from the Yankees?

No clue, his first 2 months seemed healthy just bad. Didn't miss any starts I don't believe.

I am aware, but when he was pitching he was healthy. Just got shelled. Then put him on the DL for a month and pray he comes back and returns to form, which appears very unlikely.

2B is a big question mark for the Red Sox. Nunez is basically a weak ground out or pop out these days with subpar defense and Holt is a utility player. Brandon Phillips could be promoted at some point provided he starts getting into a rhythm in AAA, although I have no idea how much he has left in the tank.

Joe Kelly has had a really bad stretch since the beginning of June. No idea if it’s mental or an injury.

The Sox are potentially looking at Moose for 3B but they could just decide to stick with Devers and go after a reliever like Iglesias.

Tate was acquired for Carlos Beltran, he has held his own for far this year. I believe he is projected middle to back of the rotation piece. Fastball, Changeup, Slider all average to above average pitches throws mid 90's.

Carroll has been a bullpen piece and throws upper 90's with a slider and a changeup

Rogers from what I've read is a lefty that could see MLB action with the O's this summer.

quote:

Tate, 24, originally joined the Yankees in the Carlos Beltran trade two years ago. He’s missed time with various injuries (hamstring, shoulder, quad) in recent years and has a 3.38 ERA (3.76 FIP) with 21.9% strikeouts, 7.3% walks, and 48.1% grounders in 82.2 innings with Double-A Trenton this season. I ranked him as the team’s No. 7 prospect in my most recent top 30 Yankees prospects list.

The 24-year-old Rogers and Carroll are both with Triple-A Scranton. Rogers was New York’s 11th round pick in 2015 and he has a 3.95 ERA (4.23 FIP) with underwhelming strikeout (17.7%) and ground ball (40.8%) rates. He’s a finesse southpaw who’s best case seems to be a poor man’s Jordan Montgomery. Carroll, a 22nd round pick in 2015, is a hard-throwing reliever with a 2.38 ERA (2.27 FIP) with 32.2% strikeouts and 10.5% walks this year. The Yankees have about 20 of those dudes in the system.

Sox have gotten away with some bad prodo at 2B this year. Nunez isn't worth anything now that he doesn't run and Holt is too valuable as a utility guy to be starting at 2B everyday. They could really use someone like Escobar from Minny, don't think they need Dozier.

They need to add another bullpen piece too. Like others have said in here, Kelly has been bad recently after starting out in dominant fashion. Familia would've been a nice addition for as cheap as he went for.
