According to a person with knowledge of the Manny Machado trade situation, the Yankees aren’t willing to part with any of their top 10 prospects to pry the All-Star shortstop away from Baltimore.
That list includes Estevan Florial, Clint Frazier, Justus Sheffield, Albert Abreu and Tyler Wade — not to mention rookie standouts Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar.

With the Yankees not willing to move high-end talent, the Orioles have increased talks with the Phillies. Names being discussed are outfielder Jhailyn Ortiz (19 years old), right-handed pitcher Franklyn Kilome (23), right-handed pitcher Adonis Medina (21) and shortstop Arquimedes Gamboa (20).

I'm looking at the stats of all those guys. None of those players are having particularly good seasons in the minors this year. Is that really the best package that the Orioles are being offered? There have to be better prospects that the Dodgers can offer.

Its the O's. I hope they get a great package in the deal but I fear that they will somehow disappoint in the option they choose. I mean, this is the same group that thought Chris Davis was worth his current contract.
If somehow they do get a great return, they need to push anybody else that could potential bring in a decent return.....Schoop, Jones, Bundy, Gausman, Givins, Britton, Bach.

Especially when there is no guarantee he would resign.

I figured the O's would be more activate, however, seems their entire focus is on Machado. Wonder if it will limit them trading anyone else

Machado just hit a monster shot to left. I'm going to miss him when he's gone. Easily the best player I've seen wear an Orioles uniform. Cal was already past his prime when I first started getting into baseball.

If i'm looking for starting pitching, i'd wait it out and watch St.Louis. I'm hearing that , Carlos Martinez could be dealt. Some in front office feel his best could come, but probably else where.
Stuff to be a top2, very nice team friendly contract, and a fresh place might do him wonders. I think he's 2 comfortable here, and some times it makes guys lazy. And he's only 26.
He could bring back a nice haul, with out full on tanking Cardinals have guys in minors who are ready to come up and start(hudson, ponce deleon), but you have ZERO leverage on the 40 man roster, yet again because of piss poor roster decisions by GM

Machado has just been removed from the game in the fourth inning after a brief rain delay. Makes you wonder if a deal has been struck or if it's just for precautionary reasons...

Source: Machado has NOT been traded. Infield sloppy after rain delay; that’s why he was pulled. #Orioles exercising abundance of caution.

The Royals are “more likely than not” to trade third baseman Mike Moustakas this month, per ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick, who lists the Red Sox and Braves as a pair of playoff contenders interested in acquiring him.

I expect Tyson Ross to become a Yank

If i was the yankees, i would definitely talk to st.Louis about Martinez. You are getting his peak years, for 11mil,11mil,11mil,11mil,etc.
26 year olds with top of rotation stuff don't hit the market very often.
Yankees go into playoffs with martinez as their #2, and possibly add a vet for depth, they go from having to out hit everyone to having 3-4 starts from their top2 every round.
And they have built up the minors to make a move like that. And you ain't getting a top2 rotation in his prime years for 11mil.
