Sounds like they were trying to get Otto Lopez but weren't willing to include Arias or Justin Gonzales.

I’m ok with that. If they really were in talks with the Reds over Elly, let’s revisit that this offseason.

Yeah, moving Arias for Otto doesn't make sense. I'm glad they didn't want to move JG for him either tbh. He's so fun.

I'm surprised Duran didn't get moved. Thought it was for sure happening when I saw the Eli White deal.

My guess is they tried to move him and no one was interested. At least not to the level they were comfortable moving him.

Despite his flaws, he does seem to be loved by the clubhouse. One of those “glue” guys.

Bloom had a good day at the office. The 2 prospects from the Brewers are now top 10 in the system via MLB Pipeline.

Bloom is excellent at building out a farm. That’s what he was hired to do after Dave Dombrowski was fired in Boston and he did it extremely well.

It’s the other stuff he wasn’t very good at. In Boston at least

The primary complaint was he sucked at roster management. He oversaw the Mookie and Xander departures and depleted the MLB roster.

He also was unnecessarily cheap. Some of that was FSG, but he operated as if he were still with the Rays.

The Cardinals are a much better fit for him imo.
