Seattle gets a leadoff hit with the Manfred runner on 2nd but hit to hard for the runner to come home. 1st and 3rd 0 outs, Crawford hits a nubber back to the pitcher. Yankees walk the next man to set up double play. The bases are loaded again with 1 out.

Yankees will get blasted tomorrow. They blew their load too early and I am not sure they will be able to recapture it.

They have been a below average team for over a month now.

Feel like nobody has been talking about the Phillies. They’ve been scorching

If they continue playing well and nab a wildcard spot that would mean 1 of Milwaukee or San Diego miss the postseason. Would be pretty pathetic for either one of those teams

In other news, I see SI reporting that there won’t be a Field of Dreams game next year. I know zero details, but I’m blaming Manfred. He hates baseball, and hates when baseball fans enjoy it.

Its due to construction

quote:

The festivities Thursday night will have to hold fans of the event over for at least two years, as the game apparently won't be returning in 2023. Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Thomas, part of the complex's ownership group, told the Des Monies Register that construction will mean no 2023 MLB event.

"It's a lot going on," Thomas said. "They don't want to come back if the stadium's not prepared."

Thomas is referring to plans at the site to put in youth baseball and softball complexes. Construction is slated to begin this year, which means it'll be ongoing next season and MLB apparently doesn't want to deal with having a game while that is happening.

Will likely be back in 2024

I read about that project the other day. Think it's a $50+ million project to make the stadium a more permanent structure, build a hotel, amphitheater, rec fields. I hate the whole idea of ruining the simple charm around the game. Just a minimalist stadium in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, seems like its kind of going against what the field stood for to begin with.
