Yankees GM Brian Cashman says the #Yankees are still in active negotiations with Aaron Judge but was unaware that Judge plans to be at the winter meetings Tuesday. There are no current face-to-face talks scheduled with Judge and the Yankees

That's $27.2MIL AAV. I honestly thought he'd break 30.

If he got 8/$260M and then signed a 3/$40M to finish out his career he ends up in the same place... but if his knees fall apart at 36 that second deal never happens.

Just look at Pedroia, Rollins, Utley, etc.

The Astros have emerged as a potential suitor for Sean Murphy, per source. Houston currently has Martin Maldonado as its catcher and has been connected to free agent Willson Contreras. Murphy, a former Gold Glove winner, is under club control through 2025.

A very active market for Christian Vázquez:

Astros, Cardinals, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Giants, Guardians, Twins, and Padres.

Astros unlikely as he wants a starting role. Sounds like he'll get a 3-4 year deal.

I need to do the same for the Red Sox I guess.

The Cubs' interest in the free-agent shortstop market has been no secret, but according to a source, there is a scenario in which Chicago could sign two of the three remaining star shortstops, likely Xander Bogaerts and Dansby Swanson.

In this scenario, the Cubs would be taking a page out of the Rangers' book from last offseason, when Texas signed both Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. Signing both Bogaerts and Swanson would likely hinge upon convincing Bogaerts to move to third base.

He’s in a no win situation and he knows it.

He probably told Steinbrenner he’s not falling on the sword w/o a contract, so Steinbrenner paid him, and there’s nothing left to do, but……

fall on the sword. LOL

Cardinals tv announcer Danny Mac arrested for persistent DWI (3rd offense).

Would imagine he gets fired. Sad, he's really good. People were pissed when he didn't get to call Albert's 700th because of apple tv.

He's finished. Move Rooney to TV? I already forgot who had the play by play in that game. No one expected Pujols would crank 2 out that night. Apple TV hit the jackpot for sure that night. That was maybe the 2nd game I watched on Apple TV all year.

No idea what they'll do or how you even go about hiring a new main tv play by play guy.

Maybe he just couldn't handle not getting to call that.

He said in an interview he would let Rooney have all of his at bats on the radio side. He didn't sound bothered by it.

It probably won't happen. But it would be good to listen to Bob Carpenter or Bob Ramsey again. I really hope Mike Claiborne or Ricky Horton or doesn't get the job. Has Thom Brenneman paid a steep enough price yet? Or nah?

The fact that Andrew Heaney is getting 3 and 4 year offers is wild to me.

Yankees are in a no win situation, sign Judge and bring back an essentially flawed roster that cannot beat the Astros or let Judge walk and allow all of these prospects a chance to play. They have the two that played last year along with Volpe, Schmidt needs a real chance in the rotation instead of the bullpen.
However, they already signed Rizzo and have DJ committed so they have to continue to at least act like they are going for it. Cashman is too scared to give young players a shot like the Astros did with Jeremy Pena, he feels they can't handle New York.
