That’s why I don’t mess with Twitter. Too many idiots, trolls, and Internet tough guys.

yasmani grandal alone can get you a package like that
Posted on 12/8/17 at 5:15 pm to tduecen
maybe not the quantity, but he would get someone with equal or better value than christian arroyo who was the only interesting piece of that whole deal

I highly doubt most other fan bases are any different. But continue to hate on. Whatever fits the narrative.

Incorrect. Heliot Ramos would have easily been the most interesting piece in a potentially Giants deal. His ceiling is higher than Verdugo, Pederson, and Arroyo. That said, his floor is not.
The Giants package is no where close to being as bad as you seem to think... especially with them taking the majority of Stanton’s salary on.

Sure, but that was back in 2014. Some team would take a chance on him if he did manage to stay healthy, but I think his injury history would limit his trade value. And now he’s 34.

That is one thing you have right. He does not currently have more value. Key word is currently.

quote:Well that is obvious, you wouldn't get a stud but you can get something useful. You are saying the Marlins (or any team wouldn't want him) and I am saying he has proven to be quality. Of course it all depends on health which we both agree on, if healthy he will command something in a trade. Either as a late inning guy like like how the Yankees acquired Jamie Garcia, BMac could bring back something similar.

I’d rather have those Giants prospects than aging expensive Dodgers pitchers who may or may not stay off the DL. Grandal I think would be more realistic trade piece.

and that is when the trade will be happening. in terms of trade value, the giants offer was not very strong and was absolutely beaten by the cards offer. the value in the giants offer came from the money they would be willing to take on....which is something a team like the dodgers, cubs, yankees, etc would do if the marlins would take back short term salary

The same Braves fans that don’t even fill their stadium for playoff games.

Grandal doesn’t even make sense unless they move him right away in another deal. They have their young franchise catcher already in place. He’s certainly not taking 1B at bats away from Bour either.

Just using Grandal as an example of the money they would have to take back....
Personally if the Marlins and Dodgers make a deal I think a pitcher will be involved to offset salary

I said as soon as WS was over that Dodgers should get stanton.
It's where he wants to go, it's his place to play.
I do love the list of 4 teams morosi gave. Only 1 of them is even remote possibility, Dodgers.
Houston cannot afford Stanton, they are going to have to pay for their guys in a couple years. They are not going to ever be a big spender, LOL
Cubs would have to shed Heywards contract, and still need pitching. They already have middle of lineup hitters.
Yankees Why pay for that contract for a 28 year old, when they can get harper for more $$, 3 ish years younger, his prime years. Lefty with power in Yankee stadium, he'd hit 50.
So it leaves the only other team besides Cards and Giants who could make the deal, Dodgers.

i think hes being pretty transparent on what he is trying to do right now. it would be interesting to see what it would take for him to move on from the dodgers and possibly give st louis or san francisco a second chance
Posted on 12/8/17 at 5:35 pm to WestCoastAg
i'm ready to see Stanton in Dodger blue. Make this happen, Andrew.
