I wonder which Rodney is going to show up: complete shutdown Rodney or easily blow a save Rodney.

That's where he is in his career.

If the Cards need a 3B they should see if Beltre is available. Not like he'll ever see a WS with the Rangers.

He went to the World Series with the Rangers in 2011.

You are one miserable and insufferable Rangers' fan. Are you ever not crying about something?

Move doesn’t make much sense for White Sox to me.

That would be hilarious

Would Ellsbury want to go there?

If the Yankees flat out told him he would be a bench bat only, maybe....

Yankees owe him 63 million and Greinke is owed 120 million left, would the Yankees do it though?

Exactly. Which is why I don't see any team wanting him.

And they didn't win and haven't won a playoff series since. And aren't close to contending again.

I mean they are closer than a lot of teams...
Only the Indians, Yankees, Red Sox, and Astros are better on paper. The Rangers should be in WC position next year

I really hope the Yankees do not deal Chance Adams for Gerritt Cole

The off season is first to make your team better but also to generate buzz to give your team some slack to extend the start of season optimism as far as possible before your fans figure out you aren't going to win, if that is the case.

Nope, which is why most just ignore him at this point

NSIAP but Dan O'Dowd and Joel Sherman made a great point on MLBN last couple of days about how the excuses of Otani/Stanton slowing down free agency is bs.

They both said teams have become smarter than ever before and know how bad FA is and have educated their owners about it so that you don't have Mike Illitch/Ted Lerner types ruining their future. They know players will panic and settle for an amount favorable to the team.

Which is always the smart thing to do, yet we still see Boras clients getting paid regardless of how teams view them
