MLB Network is being cut from YouTube TV's programming after the two parties were unable to reach an agreement on a contract renewal, according to an email that was sent to YouTube TV subscribers Tuesday.

I never got an email

I don’t know who is at fault here, but MLB constantly seems to shoot itself in the foot. Between the ridiculous blackout rules and now the inability to reach a deal with the largest streaming provider, it’s like MLB doesn’t want you to watch their content.

The MLB blackout rule is completely illogical. I can understand blacking out games in areas local to the home field. But blacking out away games makes no sense. Blacking out an Astros game in Louisiana when they play in Seattle is not going to increase attendance by 1 person. And they wonder why so many people simply find illegal streams and avoid their overpriced product.

The blackout is to protect the RSNs like Bally Sports. Bally Sports has filed for bankruptcy by the way.

I don't watch baseball but if it makes you guys feel better, a YouTube exec has confirmed that YTTV will have the multi-screen(4 screens at once) finally coming out and will be out before next NFL season.

Does this remove the extra innings package as well?

I just canceled my sub. I’ll pay a little bit more and use Directv Stream during baseball season. They have the Bally RSNs anyway.

If you cancelled your sub over that, then IDK what to tell you.

YTTV is great. And this is on MLB for being dumbasses.

I just moved back to YTTV from fubo. I like being able to change channels up and down on fubo. With losing mlb I may be switching back next month

I’ll switch back when they fix this. I love YTTV and have used it for years, but losing MLB Network is a dealbreaker for me.

I can get it on my phone through T-Mobile, so it's not that big of a deal to me.

I still think this is more on MLB then YTTV. Manfred is a fricking moron.
