Hosmer is heading to Boston, per team source.

I had a feeling. Just felt like the type of deal Bloom was looking for as a buyer and a seller.

Padres almost certainly paying vast majority of remaining financial obligation to Hosmer - more than $7M this season, plus $39 million from ‘23 to ‘25 - in deal with Red Sox. Boston not on his no-trade list. First: @sdutSanders.

What is latest on Soto trade? Is it going to happen or are the Nats going to waste the chance? Is there still that crazy September deadline of waivers etc thing also?

It’s final…they had 2 trades in place

No more waiver deadline. This is it.

Done for Dodgers 15th ranked prospect RHP Beeter

I was talking about the STL. Even with Soto, the rotation isn't good enough.

San Diego will be paying down a significant portion of the $44 million or so remaining on Eric Hosmer’s contract, per sources.

Gotcha, I misunderstand. My bad.

2nd round pick in 2020, 96 mph FB and might have the best curveball in the Dodgers minor league system. There are some concerns about him having the stamina to be a SP, but he could be a lights-out RP.
Started the year as the Dodgers #15 ranked prospect, I doubt if he's that high now. He has struggled this year in AA with a 5.75 ERA and 35 BB in 51 IP
This is a good trade for the Dodgers

I don't post as much since TD has become a political site.

I was hoping that the Rangers could’ve found a way to bring Gallo back to Texas.

Are the Dodgers really going to put out a lineup that includes Max Muncy (.162), Cody Bellinger (.205), and Joey Gallo (.159 this year)?
James Outman will take all those ABs

Sherman says on MLB Network "the Red Sox could redirect Hosmer now, or after the season."

Here's the big issue in the Rodon talks, according to multiple teams:
He can opt out after this year, so is he a rental?
Or he's owed $22.5 million next year. But why wouldn't he opt out unless he's hurt?
So teams are having a hard time agreeing with Giants on his price tag
