im pretty sure this is the furthest into the season where he isnt the majors leader in WAR (when he has been healthy and hasnt missed large amounts of games)

Sounds like his teammates have given him plenty of chances to succeed then. He must have plenty of postseason success.

Oh wait.

Wow that’s wild. It’s crazier that he is perhaps having his best season ever as well, even though it feels like this is said every season.

theres a chance he will have the lead by the end of the week. right now bellinger only has a .2 lead over him

It will be funny when Mike Minor topples them both.

Trout didn’t lead the league in WAR last year or in 2014.

Well, they're playing the Cardinals and Michael Wacha is pitching one of the games. I'd say it's almost a certainty.

you are absolutely right on 2014. that was harpers 10 WAR season

he would have led the league in WAR by a large margin last year if he didnt miss 40 games

eta: we are off on our years. 2015 was the year trout finished second to harper. he lead the league in 2014

You should really sit out the Mike Trout threads.

But seriously, you WAR disciples need to explain why the Angels are always so goddamn mediocre. Are they a 95 loss team without him?

I don’t think it’s a big mystery. The team around him isn’t good and one baseball player can’t make a LeBron like impact.

because they have done a poor job at surrounding him with league average talent. and they have traditionally not had a good pitching staff

You think 1 player that bats 4 times per game should be all that is needed to make a team good?

Trout played in more games last year than Mookie did
