And they aren’t just giving her a 60% raise to match another offer. They would literally have hundreds of applicants for that job at $58k.
I know people who work in athletics as well, real jobs that matter to the teams start at like $40k because so many people will take it just to get their foot in the door
All of this.
Also worth noting that University athletic staff are also typically beholden to state guidelines regarding public employees and fraternizing between supervisor and supervisee. You also usually have to disclose that to an HR department if you do intend to have a relationship and that usually means a transfer to another department.

I don't really follow college football, but I was shocked when I first read of this guy and his firing. There's no way I'd hire that person as HC if I had Michigan's money and clout backing me up. He has the phrenology of a serial liar and he doesn't have the resume regardless.

That was before he lost to Ohio State and missed the playoffs.

Ya’ll keep saying that and are likely right, but going from $58k to $90k from year 2-3 isn’t that unheard of.
For a secretary it is

Idk where you work, but it’s typically frowned upon for married leadership to impregnate their subordinates.
