His transition from college to the NFL has been spectacularly underwhelming. Everyone knew he was going to set the world on fire and it just hasn’t happened.

The Sunday night game next week vs. the Commanders could determine the final wildcard in the NFC

No TDs, 1 INT. Around 60% completion. Average. C to C-

The Falcons are going to cut him so the contract's not going to be an issue.
Except for the dead cap hit for next year. Falcons basically set $100M on fire.

A+ considering....

With the Atlanta Falcons win, the New Orleans Saints have been ELIMINATED from playoff contention

You didn't watch the game.

Penix clearly had 5-8 dropped passes that hit receivers directly in the hands. He had two TDs dropped, and one was literally lateraled into an INT by ShitForBrains Kyle Pitts.

Penix looked very good yesterday.

Everyone was bitching about teams from weak conferences getting in the playoffs all weekend but the same shite happens in every sport.

CFB is the only sport I hear people saying winning your conference shouldn't matter if another team is "better" on the eyeball test.

Yep.

Now Washington next week is going to be a different animal.

No doubt. Lots of storylines there. Falcons going against their former coach in Dan Quinn.

Quinn is a very good coach - but he absolutely has a shelf life. He's not a long-term answer. His message wears thin relatively quickly.

Don't have a ton of confidence in Atlanta's ability to win there.

The penix did not rattle under pressure.

48% of his drop backs yet not one sack on the Penix

We need that given our inability to protect Matt Ryan for 15 years

I just can't see him playing at a high level anymore like his past years and I would be shocked if another team picks him up with that contract

He's going to get a vet minimum from someone just like with Wilson and the Falcons have to pay him 27 million, no matter where he is next year. He's not going to be on the Falcons but will still count against their cap.

Someone of his build and athletic abilities should be a huge mismatch in the passing game. Should be.

You cannot make Pitts care. As he said in an interview the other day, "I just work here."

He doesn't want to be great. Compared him to London, who doesn't have a quarter of the physical abilities. London has a drive that Pitts just cannot emulate. He's got tons of talent. But no desire to be great. Can't coach that.

Lock looked better, 3 TD - that’s good.

He has never looked comfortable on his plant leg, even when he was throwing for 509 yards against Tampa Bay earlier this season

Perhaps but his issues were more mental than anything else IMO.He looked shell shocked vs Raiders.
He was to afraid to throw anything over the middle and would immediately check down or take a sack with the slightest bit of pressure. Not close to the same QB he was earlier in the season.

I think some other teams will take a chance on em next year. They better or else the Falcons take big hit on their cap next year.
