Wasn't Bird's back pretty well shot by then? I was always under the impression that Bird was on that team more as a victory lap type deal than he was an integral piece?
I know he scored 8 points a game, for 9th on the team.

I don't know how you define crush, but I think the 92 team wins by at least 15.
I've been reading a lot of these team USA threads and i'm absolutely positive that most of these folks here didnt even watch the 2008 team, that was at full strength.
I see Dwight Howard being brought up a lot. Do people know he was awful in 2008? Half the time he hurt the team more than helped them.
Do people know it was a huge struggle for them to beat Spain? That was honestly one of the best basketball games i've ever seen. It took Lebron and Kobe absolutely taking over the last 4 minutes of that game for the US to win. Lebron was awesome and played crazy defense, Kobe made a huge 4 point play.
And the 2012 team beating the 92 team? Lol
The 2012 team would lose by 10+ to the 2008 team.
