Personally I like the hire. Players coach who played at UL and knows the state well for recruiting.
It isn't like we grabbed this guy off the street. He has been coaching at UL for the past 6 years.
He has not head coaching experience but Napier didn't either and Napier himself said Desormeaux is the best option off his staff.
When you have the players on the roster that they have and you want to return as many as possible, which includes multiple All-Sun Belt selections and specifically the Sun Belt Freshman of the year this hire makes good sense to me.
It isn't like we grabbed this guy off the street. He has been coaching at UL for the past 6 years.

I don’t know anyone who is angry about how successful we were this season. It’s just really odd how some of you LSU fans are so obsessed with us when they should be worried about becoming relevant again.

Because to some of them, we are supposed to be a Southland school while they suck up all of the glory. They HATE the fact that another in-state school is winning and stealing their thunder. Most LSU fans I know were happy with our success and concerned about the lack of their own the past two years. But a good bit of them actually have an LSU degree and put their money where their mouth is unlike some of these keyboard warriors who can't name a building on LSU's campus outside of the athletic complex.
